Been on the lookout for a cheap replacement for my Clio II project cars wing mirror......
I just realised today that the wing mirror on my Missus' old shape megane is the spitting image of the one on my 182 road car.
Anyone know if they are actually the same, including the actual fixing...
I was going to try and find somewhere to get some polyurethene bar from and have a go and knocking up some engine mounts myself, could have a go at this something like this too.
Tyres are described like 185/55/15
185 is the width
55 is the profile
15 the (wheel)diameter
the smaller the profile the more it looks like a rubber band.
If you are lowering and you need clearance you need lower profile tyres.
Is it just me, or is it slightly ironic that this seller describes this 182 alloy as an ideal spare wheel :D

'generally' rally cars in particular use bigger wheels for tarmac and smaller wheels for gravel.
But for clios I would go for 15'', if for nothing else theres a decent availability of competition tyres in that size. Its what I use, but thats what I have, so that why i use it :)
People cross them to make their effective length shorter, but you should really do it.
If it is a decent set of belts they should come with a diagram showing where they should go. Shoulder straps should be as shown in the diagram in the first post.
Another thing to NOT do its attach each...
The fuel tank isnt weeping out the pump or anything?
I have seen a plastic fuel can melt before due to what must have been a reaction of some kind between the can, fuel and plastic bags in the boot.
What makes you think I know anything!!
Its a few years ago, and it quite hazy... but I think youre right; the welds held but the body didnt.
IIRC ive seen 4 types of failures in the last few years.
Insert bent
Body bent like a bananna!!!
Mounting bracket starts to tear off
Insert...
Those fronts have too small OD inserts for me.
Are there any aftermarket kits in this sort of price range that have 30+mm OD inserts.
By this price range I mean not Proflex or Ohlins etc ;)
you might notice its harder to get through an MOT ;)
edit: I always thought post 1994 cars that came with a Cat had to have one to pass an MoT, but I just read that aslong as it still passes emissions it is ok. Which one IS correct, just seen two different sources say different things
This is just what I thought...
Cat D write offs dont loose their log books.
Cat C ones do, and hence need a VIC check to make sure it is actually the same car when you apply for it again.
Possibly :)
Lots of 1.2 16V engines on ebay, I have 1 available too :)
But it is high mileage ;)
It would be best not to rush and get a decent motor to start with though
Straight cut gears require you blip the throttle to bring engine speed up to gearbox speed for the gears to mesh.
Helix cut gears as found on road cars use a syncromesh, which does the same job for you, so no use in heel and toeing
(ish, im not very good at explainations)
