nope, bigends are the *big ends* of the con rods,,, small ends are the piston gudeon pin.
main bearings are the ones that hold the crank to the block

yep spun bigend thats what i thought,,,
rod will be nackered (will need bore gauging and poss reclaiming)
(they take a layer off the flat surface of the main cap, then rebore the journal)
crank grinding then oversize bearings,, and thats if you can find them,, which...
imo unless you are doing it properly like markcup etc and ripping the lot out its not worth it
i had the back of mine stripped for ages and the fact that you cant talk to anybody at 70 the fact it ices up in the morning etc its just not worth it

where does the temp gauge sit may be thermostat stuck open and overcooling,,,
can you get it to warm up if you sit revving it??
or going the other way,, if you were to leave it sit with the bonnet shut would it overheat?? heater wont work if the waterpump isn't pumping ie impeller not spinning...
it will be fine, as far as i know there are no pulley differences,, no bolt spacing differences other than cup...
long as ampage is somewhere near what it was it will be fine
if you really want to double check you'd need to get hold of this autocharge companys (never heard of them) catalouges...

i also had one with 1 spun big end bearing (same thing arrived to me with a crack in the sump and a new sump)
starter motor wouldnt touch it and i could just about get it to turn with a 4ft breaker bar whilst blipping the starter but that was it

i mean get the bolt out first,, the problem (well the 2) you are going to have is if you have tightened it enough to snap it,, being a stretch bolt it may have stretched in the threads and it will be tight ie you wont just tap it round with a screwdriver but it is worth a...

it wont be bent valves, would still turn over... it may lock going one way but you'd be able to turn it backwards free enough.
100% not that if it wont turn at all.
