i've been trying to find this out for ages but nobody can give me a proper answer..
well,, i can answer your question yes you will lose cruise
i dont think it can be done on standard management
as you have the issue of what to wire a throttle postion sensor to,, and idle control...
i dont think the throttle body is the restriction on the inlet side its the lower "bend" that would need a fair bit of sorting before the tb became a problem i reckon
need to think it through a bit more than that fella, you are wrong....
rear drums work BETTER than rear discs, by quite alot... the only problem with them is that they fade too quickly due to being an enclosed design they dont realse heat quick enough, not a problem you are going to get on the...
if you can do a headgasket, you can do a water pump
simple as that tbh you know about cam timing from the head gasket job.
the rest is just a case of unbolt things untill you can see the waterpump!
oh,, and they are easy
give it regular oil changes mate (more regular than reccomended)
i like using engine flush on them too, i've done so many oil pumps on those engines the strainer blocks up..
problem being it can kill the turbo before you have noticed the oil pressure warning on the dash
10/40 is fine for them
and no, pmsl, im not turning the key out of shot.
im not that sad.
today i think i'll take my car to work and video my car with an xkr revving up out of shot, that will impress you all :boring:
lol i love the conspriacy theorists.
cat171's seen it.
pointless waste of money???
im a mechanic, its what i do..
i had the engine out, dash out, and i had to wire up the ignition...
i took the heater panel apart, took a clip out of the button to make it a momantary switch.. soldered...
is it just the passenger window at fault with the old uch? why not do away with that function of the uch and wire the passenger window yourself through a relay?
easy enough and you would never know
and have you taken the old one apart
bet you its a dry joint on one of the surface mount...
easiest option is fit the donor ecu will all plug up and work then
im 99.9% sure you wont be able to code a used uch to your ecu, could be wrong but im sure it cant be done
on a serious note though i wonder if an electric supercharger could actually be done
i mean in theory, i dont see why you couldn't gear one of these brushless motors to turn a fan quick enough to produce positive pressure
must be some draw back to it or somebody would have done it
but...
you can literally do water pump and belt on a 1.2 in half hour if you wanted to
changing an engine especially a bare one is a good few hours work..
false economy
no they are sh*t
i got one on my car, well, it depends how much of a perfectionist you are
i fitted mine starting at the back, postinioned the back box where it sat nice to the bumper/right angle etc.
slotted the mid section in to that and the front of it was pointing at the floor!
lift...
im no expert, but my understanding is electrical components only consume as many amps as requried
ie, it dont matter if you have an 100000amp power source, a 5 amp bulb will still only draw 5 amps?
or am i wrong?
