ok while the clever people are around... are knocks from actually inside the rack common?? i have a knock when rocking steering.. tie rods have slight play and trackrod ends are actually ok.. could be the tie rods but i think the knock is actually inside?

thats not true at all....
unburnt petrol will not ignite in an exhaust system especially not on an n/a car.. you would need the exhaust system super heated before pouring unburnt petrol into it would ignite..
it actually leans the mixture off on overrun... and alters the ignition timing so...
did you reset the lifters? could have been those holding the valves open on number 4...
done it a couple of times myself.. new valves and lapping will mean the valve stems are further up in to the head,,, lifters stay where they were so valves never shut
christ you lot want to change the whole car!!!! it will all be fine! discs might want a rub down at worst, check all levels disconnect the coil pack and crank for a few seconds is not a bad idea
other than that it will be fine,, abide by the cambelt intervals and all will be well
if it were me,, i'd have a good measure up,, and refit with another rod and gudgeon pin
you will need to make sure all the oil ways in the block are clear and that the pump is not scored from the swarf
you will have purists tell you the rods are all matched to eachother in weight but it will...
does such a thing exist? i broke my home made effort today (after god knows how many uses) and rather than trying to weld it back together i quite fancy a proper looking bit of kit,,

why not just wire the front sidelights as drl's if you really wanted them,, why go to all the ag of putting them in the indicators??

the car was insured as 2.0 when i owned it... cant comment on now but it was then...
i never got round to completing the process changing it on the logbook.. its a very long drawn out process that i was told (by adrian flux) was not particualrly worth doing other than for resale purposes
to be fair i have never heard anything good about amd... other than the fact there car made 30bhp more on there rollers compared to anywhere else which seems to keep people happy
