what i basically want to do,, is convert my ph2,, to ph1 management.
BUT i want to keep everything functioning as it did before, so obviously im going to have to modify the ph2 engine loom to make everything match up (not a problem as i have a complete ph1 donor car)
now what im wondering...
engine, ALL ancileries (none are compatible) and gearbox..
engine loom, dash loom, then depending on spec of your car you may need door looms, rear interior loom, upper interior loom. (i did when doing mine)
you will need the ecu, uch and key from the donor vehicle
most importantly you will...
i think a welded anti roll bar will fail an mot (i should know this i am a tester) im pretty sure there is a failure for suspension components showing repairs using excessive heat or repaired by welding...
i will check for certain tommorow
to be fair this isn't your average ebay link and will this work thread... least there has been a little bit of thought gone in to it and some numbers etc
it wont work though.. turbos spin at 100's of rpm's for a reason.. you would never produce the pressure with an electric motor unless it was...
fits fine other than the abs issue did it on my white one...
you can get round the abs probs its just a case of finding abs rings with the right amount of teeth (compared to the fronts) to fit the rear discs... which i can confirm you will find searching through renaults parts database
oil does rot belts! seen it loads before had a toyota rav4 recently serviced it at 20k no leaks at all..in the space of 10k miles it developed a leak from a cam seal turned the cambelt to mush and bent all the valves..
happens all the time
im sure its got potential.. its just doing my head in being impossible to manouver the thing without it stalling! ok next bit of advice how would i be best spending my money, bearing in mind i want to keep the creature comforts on this car??
omex going to cost a bomb? i could fit/wire it...
Right,, basically i fitted some cams to a mates 172 a few months ago.. they were a cat cams missmatched set he bought from somebody off here (somebody may remember them?) i cant for the life of me remember which where which but anyway..
i fitted them (and before anyone says it cam timing as...
the way you are all talking... are you defiantely talking about head bolts???
not the ones you can see under the inlet,, the 10mms that hold the cam cover on?
if a head bolt breaks,, you cant just screw another in. it all needs stripping and the head gasket done
it does... air conditioning is a chemical reaction.. the aircon condensor (which is bolted infront of the radiator) gets red hot very quick with the a/c on...
that warms the rad up faster than it would on its own.. its not as silly as it sounds.
i think its just a charecteristic.. my converted car does it in traffic ( dipping the clutch and stabbing the throttle sorted it) when rolling along at idle..
172 does it like mad with the cams in it.. idles lumpy!
no, as your cup has no abs...
on the cars with abs it uses the abs computer to send a speed pulse to the clock.. the only way you could get round that is fit the entire abs setup inc the computer all the wiring 4 sensors the lot...
i see what you want to do,, but you wont be able to get it...
