bare engines are the same,,,, so will go straight in
sensors are too but near as b*llocks is to swearing you'll have to swap everything off the ph1 lump
how would idle control work as the ecu will be constantly moving the throttle motor trying to make it idle smoothly (which it wont due to the map problem) and the ecu will see no rpm changes from its adjustments??
cant see it working tbh its probably more doable with a ph1
thats what i was trying to get at....
plus i dont know how you'd go about getting a throttle position reading to the ecu even if you did use a cable throttle... you'd have to convert to a ph1 ecu and loom which sort of defeats the obect unless somebody can come up with something using a...
what model are them wheels from mate? look 17 inch??
fancying turning to the dark side and getting 17's purely because im bored and i've had 15's and 16's on it already!
you have blatently never touched a car before..
cleaning parts (something all half decent self respecting techs do) eats up time
gasket surfaces..
prepping head bolts
torquing a head down can take a good half hour on its own depending on how complicated the procedure is...
ah, i thought this was standard injectors we were talking.......
if that were the case it would have been near impossible for 4 to fail at the same time..
if thats the case i guess its posisble,, i still say check the feeds though im no expert in that area but im trying to work out how that...
who the fcuk reckons they can change a cylinder head and service a car in 3 hours????
tell you what come and let me watch you do that and if you do it i'll sign my house over to you....
you'd struggle to do that on the simplist of the simple 8v pushrod engined ford ka!!!
stick a noid light (or a 501 sidelight bulb with the ends bent out) in one of the plugs check they are being fired.
its unlikely and to be honest i'd go as far as to impossible that all injectors have failed..
they may not have a live.. you should have an ignition live which i think comes...
put a trolley jack under it to push it back in to the hub.....
then do it back up,, loads of wd
keep working it backwards and forwards and eventually undo a tad more each time
mine did,,, select few early full fat 172's did as mine had ABS and a speed sensor in the box with the wiring there for both.
when i did the engine swap all i had to do to make the speedo work was go into diagnostics and swap the speedo input signal from the abs to the gearbox sensor
cups...
sounds like its over fuelling to me,, grey smoke is petrol and would explain the pops
oil smoke is blue,, piston rings would do it yes but valves?? you mean valve stem seals??
but as said that would be blue smoke
zetecs do indeed need 5-30 which isn't particularly special nowadays when...
its akward because the std ecu uses map pressure to calculate load where as on a port throttle setup you'd use throttle position
plus the fact all the newer cars use fbw
have to a agree what the hell point is there of taking the seats out if you are going to fill it back up full of wood you might aswell put the seats back in
carpet the metal looks better in my oppinion looks more factory than a dead flat lump of carpeted wood
