the radio is from a trafic van... what info do you need from the van/radio if you can do it
cheers
i dont bother with the alignment tool i just finger tighten the bolts so it grips the plate.. then line it up with my fingers through the 3 gaps
try doing mgf clutches without taking the hydrolastic suspension out
gives you about 2 inches to change the clutch
its so tight you have to...
have done a 1.2 in 2 hours before just moving the box to the side
never really timed doing a 172 i've only done one but changing the box i reckon was somewhere near 5hr
reckon i could do just a clutch must quicker though just shove the box over and fit the clutch through the gap
i know this is an old thread but it popped up in a search i was doing...
for anyone interested the noise mentioned here sounds alot like inner antiroll bar bushes, been seeing it alot recently
yup
if its a track car you may get away drilling two holes in the bumper where the 10mms for the headlight are
i reckon if you undo them in situ you could get the headlight on with the bumper on (ages since i've looked at a ph1)
save a bit of time for quick on off if its gonna be a regular thing
you've missed the most important thing.. engine size
2l turbo 200bhp verses 2l N/A same power turbo every time due torque advantage and tunability
1.4 turbo v 2l na both running same power it would have to be the 2l as the 1.4 will lack off boost and at 200bhp probably be suffering with lag
think it works on contact with air so wouldnt block passages
they say not to use it on k series due to the little ball valve in the inlet manifold
its weird stuff i was trying to figure how it works
if you leave it in a bottle with the lid off it stays liquid
if you pour it on a work...
im a bit surprised that ones still rolling around tbh.
kind of shot myself in the foot though as i wanted it back for a head gasket the following week lol
yep i've used similar stuff as temp fixes for customers...
funnily enough we had a k series (don't know if you know of them but they go through a head gasket every 40k on average) fella brought in oil in the water, missfiring, etc etc..
quite a bad case. needed to drive the car desperately the...
what? didnt get a word of that. proper way to do it is lock the crank and cams, free off all 3 pulleys and rotate the belt on its pulleys (with crank and cams still locked twice to distribute tension.. i then do the first stage of torque on the crank pulley and fit the pulley locking tool and...
one i drove was awful! everyone thought i was stupid...
it was very comfortable.. but what the hell point is there of a car like that being comfortable
i did a cambelt on a bug eyed wrx a few weeks ago and i was bored sh*tless tbh.
very sluggish untill on boost and by that time you've run out of road
even on boost it wasnt overly exciting
bike carbs are out of the question if you want your car legal.... bike tbs are an option (and quite a...
you should get away with it.. i've done rack bushes before and didnt drop the frame i reckon you should be able to pull it out
but for what it takes i'd just loosen all the subframe bolts and lower it down a nats
why, you mean an organic clutch?
you realised the idea of a paddle clutch is greater clamping pressure.. going back to an organic clutch would be defeating the object unless he were to run a multiplate helix one
well impressed with the project mate
bloke would be in a box by now if that were my car.
you just dont mess with other peoples cars id rather him just come and start on me out things like that drive me mad.
over a girl aswell.. its not about that
just because you unplug an injector and it makes no difference dosnt mean its the injector.
what about if you take that lead off the coil pack while its running, any difference in note?
it could be a compression issue..
i know you have said you have checked the coilpack ht leads and plugs...
i've done it before a few times... you just drop the exhaust down as far as you can its akward getting to the top but it can be done
i've welded a backbox completely back on a 172 in situ in the past aswell
if his car has a bump with an ice cube his exhaust is going to be the last of his worrys lol!
fred.. while you are about.. have you had (or heard of) any issues with 1.2 shafts on a 172 engine? trying to decide wether to leave as is or upgrade to 172 running gear as my cars going to be used...
im after a bit of carpet the same as what goes over the spare wheel in the boot... want to remove the rear seats and want to keep it looking tidy with a single peice cut to shape to cover the whole area...
dont want to put all the weight back in with boards and what not
any ideas where i can...
well done mate..
dont worry about that chip, its not in the fire ring so you will be fine.
well done for doing it properly!
bit surprised they havnt cleaned the combustion chambers/ports...
give them a wirebrush on a drill before it goes on mate may aswell clean it up nice
with the dual element bulb its simple to wire... take the earth from the main earth on the multi plug to the middle pin, live for dip beam to one side and live for main beam to the other.. dip beam is the filament with the reflector round it..
you need sidelights too for it to pass,,, and it...
lol i see that thing all the time cat.
theres another dealer special mk3 aswell kicking about in a monaco blue looking colour roneo corner/heading for rainham sort of way
always up my arse!!!!
im going to fit guns to my car
its one of them things unless you know exactly what you are doing yourself its not worth doing
not something you can just get a mechanic to bolt on..
im still looking in to bike carbs
inlet manifold design is mad so much maths that no sod actually understands involved
sounds like a dodgey connection on the door plug
open the door, where the wiring goes in to the car, thats a plug.. on the top its got a thing you lift up and it slides the plug out
