ohhhh BDA !!!!!!!!!
trouser accident moment !
have a browse through the burton engineering catalouge... would cost you as much as your average 182 to put a BDA engine together!
every single bolt came out?
theres like 20 bolts holding it on!!! never seen that id have thought the sump would have cracked if it was just bolted to the bell housing and left.
and must have been leaking???
seen things like bell housing bolts come loose on deisels but..

ring those fellas matt.
im sure they deliver but if not i live about 3 doors down so can collect and send them..
they sell so many parts for obscure engines i'd quite happily gaurentee you they can get them/have them in stock..
Re: cup weight saveing
theres loads of weight in the brown rubber lined stuff behind the dash.
but its only worth removing if you are taking the dash out for another reason... whole thing has to come off
leads come complete with the coil pack on 1.2s and are quite expensive..
if you want to save yourself some money.. dont take two much notice of guesses over the internet and get it diagnosed.
otherwise you could end up buying loads of bits you dont need
nice car this, scrubbed up well at fcs. (i even did my bit by parking my washed last month car next to it!)
next you need to cram it full of engine and hide the looms etc euro style !
cant you just try a confirmed working pedal from a mates car or whatever? they are all the same (well they arent but they all work fine with eachother)
you'll need to either send the ecu off for testing or replace it
same with the wiring need to check continutiy/resistance from the pedal to...
it advances/retards the cam timing on the inlet cam.. its dephased up untill 1600 ish rpm i think it was (to meet emmisions) its then phased up untill high 6k rpm where its dephased again to drop power off to stop vital engine internals parting company with your car.
dephaser (begins with a d)
but it does neither of those things....
the part that controlls the revs is the throttle body, and the thing that gives it the 5k kick is peak volumetric effeiency
nope not testable
if its got a broken lense with sharp edges it will fail though...
the they have to work if they are fitted rule dosnt apply to fogs they arent testable at all.
use to apply to 3rd brake lights untill recently now they arent even testable
just use the renault battery terminal in the back, join that to your new wire and run that forward
the standard renault terminal is fused. that way if it shorts anywhere from the battery forward you'll be fine
its f*cked.
lol.
basically, being french.. they thought it would be a good idea to tie the air con in to pretty much all of the vehicles systems, for one reason or another.
its linked to the ecu because it turns it off when you floor it.
the uch (the body computer) is what actually...
air con is controlled via the uch which is controlled by the ecu.. engine management diagnostic should pick it up as the aircon request is controlled via it.
it needs fault codes checking in the ecu, then in the uch via body computer.
our crypton does it but ideally needs going on clip
thats the long and short of it!
i've been trying to figure out a way of doing it for ages,,
i've got 172 hubs, struts, brakes and shafts.. but no wishbones or arb. so short of buying those from matt (which i didnt really want to do as id end up wide track) theres not much of a way round it
im not 100% convinced on that, as if you think about it lengthening the wishbones alone wont give a wider track it will just give massive negative camber.. therefore the top of the hubs have to be spaced out aswell and as far as i know this is done in the suspension leg bolt alignment on the...
does anybody know who i can speak to about this? had a good search about but cant find anything helpfull really.
basically.. i want to get my car sva tested, as a kit car as i have a modification engine wise in mind that means a cat wont be a possibility..
i understand it will be on a q...
have you got the engine out?
take it to a machine shop to get assessed.
ideally you dont want to be mixing and matching parts if you can help it, and you'd have to take your other block to a machine shop anyway to get honed for the new rings to bed in so just get it checked id say
