i never dismissed it mate.. from reading on here i reckon the best bloke to speak to would be ben @ angelworks gdi or stan at apd
dont think it would be worth the money it would cost.. but loads of things are possible
for expample ford zetec engines running a turbo some tuners use vauxhall...
its obvious wether its a blockage or pump.. is the pump running.. when you operate the washers do you hear the motor running or just silence..
if nothing its more than linkely pump if it runs its more than like a blockage
custom crank?? yeah anythings possible but you'd be better off buying yourself a house for what they'd charge in development costs.
there may be another engine about with a crank that could be adapted but loads of development needed
50 quid tops imo.. half hour labour max dependant on where you go (would be £23 at our place) and about 15 for the belt plus vat
thats garage prices (as many say half hour minimum charge)...
but i'd say do it yourself its literally that simple anyone could do it
dont take it to them and ask them to check those things.
take it and say check why its cutting out..
theres no need to say check all those things,, as just by hearing it running a decent tech should be able to say each of those are working ok
if the tdc sensor wasnt it wouldnt be running
if...
yup thats fiestas for you..
thats pretty much un repairable tbh unless you want to go cutting bits out of a fiesta from a scrap yard
has to be seem welded as its less than 30 cm from the seatbelt anchorage
if thats gone like that i wouldnt mind betting sills etc are shot
bye bye charlie...
you are thinking of igntion timing. strobe light flashes when spark on number 1 occurs you then match that up to however many degress before top dead centre its supposed to be..
all ecu controlled on modern cars now
cam timing can only be checked by physically stripping it down and checking...
so this fault is directly linked to the aux belt snapping?
where did the remains of the belt end up (or didnt you find them)
are the cam belt covers(plastic covers behind the belt ok.
you may have slipped the cam timing if a bit of the auxilery belt did find its way in there.. that would give...
or that...
never really seen one bugger up on its own accord though they normally tend to go at mot times (only time they get used for many people)
unless you are one of these "special" people who think they can park on double yellows and by putting the hazard lights on it completely justifys...
well said mish stop talking sh*t in here and start your own thread so i can laugh at you in there..
nice rep... im ordering the body parts for mine in the morning couldn't resist
i already got the best bit though :rasp: :D
erherm mish :rasp:
tight as a ducks bum
got loads in my tool box at work go to a motor factors they are a fairly standard thread.
failing that buy a wheel bearing kit nick the nut then return it
thats normal mate.
i've been fooled by this one in the past.
with the engine not running pressing the pedal down you get nothing nothing nothing get to about half way down then it just snaps open..
the quivering is where its trying to find idle and where its not running it obviously cant...
not got it no,,, its a van we scrapped ages ago i know the reg and vin as i wrote it on the back of the radio.. just found it recently and thought id give it a new home
