kin hell never heard of that before
if it is the case you only need the hub flange and a bearing kit
matt at the breakers 01254386661 can do you both but you'll want a press to fit it
youll pay quite a bit for a complete hub but i reckon about an hour less labour
Re: 80% complete 172RWD! - updated
its a black one in the engine bay controls the pump, and its earthed by the ecu (a small white wire)
oh and dont be thrown by the pump not priming.
mine dosnt prime as such either, it just donks on ignition and then fires up under crank
Re: 80% complete 172RWD! - updated
if it were me mate, i would move the entire engine bay loom to the back of the car, ecu the lot.
extend all the wiring from the bulkhead multiplug (dashboard end)
back your engine loom which is now in the back of the car, then all you need to do is pick out...
its the little grey sensor on the side of the plenham
my rs tuner seems to throw up loads of fantom codes that my diagnostic computer dosn't pick up, shift light being one and it seems to work fine
depends how seized they are, i've done loads but i bought a specialist tool the grips it you use with a long extension,, to be honest i wouldnt even bother attempting one without the tool
looking at the print out the first thing i'd be checking is the cat, low lambda which means you are running rich and the fact you had engine problems assuming it was missfiring you will have dumped fuel all over the cat and caused it to burn up.
if it was a high lambda reading you'd be looking...
Re: 80% complete 172RWD! - updated
dont think like that mate you can sort it, had a thought.
where have you extended the loom to take it all to the rear? just the individual sensor wires?
if so, do you get a steady crank pulse through live data as im thinking the extra resistance in the wire my...
from what i understand all these problems you here of the standard ecu not being up to it are only because it calculates engine load from manifold pressure..
if thats the case paul from rs tuning is in the process of trying to get throttle bodies to run on a standard ecu i think i read...
i just tend to delete the metal box myself.
done 4 or 5 now not had a problem.
all the ones i've done have had a wire rubbed through though - if nothings damaged it wont be that causing it.
the only real difference between 182 and 172 is the exhaust manifold, and more 172's crash than 182s so there are more donors about for conversion.
probably also more of a sod to route the longer manifold
oh yeah i welded a bar from the extra support to the boot floor lol.
just a small bit of round bar it just stops a bit of flex on that side been ok for a month or so
best ya gonna get is universal i think, they sell frames too so you'd just have to staple it at the bottom

couple of saturdays time convenient? (working next saturday so saturday after?)
will give you something for it obviously let me know mate.. dont mind swapping it over for ya.
thanks.
christ you can really see the difference there.
from somebody who knows washing a car to be throwing a bucket of fairy liquid over it and thinking itself lucky....
would i see a difference like that on white paint?
if you won that beam on ebay and you just wanted the axle, assuming the hubs are ok fancy selling me the brake setups off it?
or even just the bent axle complete?
cheers
they should have asked you how far they can go with it ie if you gave them go ahead to spend 4 hours on it they will charge you for it.
if they only got go ahead from you for 2 hours thats all they can charge you.
if they didnt ask at all you can argue that you would have told them to stop after...
