did the bloke that caught him and beat him get arrested on assult aswell?
f*cked up system.
you are lucky in a way mate would have been much worse if he missed and dented/scratched the rear quarter
of course it will - it will make as much difference as putting them on the front equally.
think about it.. when you press the brake pedal you pressurise the whole hydrualic system, so anything that can give (the hoses) are going to give.
so if you just fit the fronts the sponginess is just going...
my goodrige set just said "2000 on clio with drums" so i would imagine there are variations with both age and rear set up
def reccomend them though, i did mine and bled through with dot5.1.. while i was at it i cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes.
pedal was so much firmer the brakelights...
well i did it - quite pleased with how it came out only thing i dont like is that i couldnt hide the amp under a seat it was too big
but came out ok next week im going to make a carpeted ply false floor to go over the top and hide the lot
what you reckon
and one random bored one
imo everyone who has posted in this thread is wrong
its down to personal choice - buy them and compare them to the discs you had last.
only real way you can tell.
myself personally i would go brembos aswell
(with a decent press)getting them out is dead easy never broken one yet-but i dont like re using bearings and try not to do it if i can get away with it. as when you press the inner race of a bearing the grease trys to hydraulic force the dust seal off of the bearing.
also the abs rings i've...
f*ck me what were you doing spinning it up to 100mph!!!!!!!!!!!!
with it jacked up the shafts are at quite an angle so best case scenario is its popped a shaft out worst case it could have damaged something internal
Re: 70% complete 172RWD!
coming along great mate.
can i just offer one constructive critiscism though - the whole job you have done on the car is top job you could beleive that it was done in the factory - but i cant help thinking the bit of wood for your fuse box is letting the side down?
nice- something along those lines is what im after
im hoping to do it with less weight involved though i literally want the sub just low enough so i can put the boot carpet over the top of it (see how bad it vibrates) then have it completely hidden.
main thing im not sure about is having the sub...
best get it in an mot garage and get them to adjust it
worst case scenario is they will take a tenner from.. most wont charge i dont charge for headlight alignment.
at least that way you know its right
if so how did you go about doing it?
origionally i was going to loose the sub as i was sick of it sliding about and it looked so out of place in the boot
but after a quick look tonight it near enough lays in the spare wheel well with about an inch taking off the box it will disapeer in to the...
yeah only because they actually sold a golf with the exact same 1.8t engine in it - wouldnt be much of a conversion really as you could just go buy an off the shelf 1.8t golf for 2k and spend the money tuning.
but as for the turbo 2.0 i seem to recolect the block being taller or something...
Re: 'Parking brake lever has no reserve travel'
hydraulic hanbrakes are an mot fail
no reserve travel means it comes up too high.
no - handbrake cables are just a standard item nothing to uprate on them.
alot of people just wind the cable up - this is not the correct way to adjust the cable...
right - first off thats not true.
the 1.2 16v is single cam uses a rocker setup to operate 16 valves same as a bmw mini engine same as a few chrystlers etc etc.
and cam seals arent needed to do the belt on the 1.2 16 completely pointless.
the gates kit is 80 something quid trade and comes with...
i researched the normal way of doing things edde - but nowhere have i seen anyone mentioning the electric rack being used as a manual rack and nowhere have i seen mentioned about using the trip computer dash with it.
also one little thing i've noticed is i have found somone has (i think it was...
Re: Any point upgrading to performance slotted brake disks if standard ones are okay?
as mentioned in your other thread its mainly in an effort to reduce fade and in which case its more pads that are going to help you out.
in my oppinion standard discs are fine aslong as you use quality ones.
Re: One standard, one well good. Put the well good brake system on front or back?!
depends what exactly you are after dont quite understand what you mean.
but one thing you have to understand is all this drilled/grooved super duper carlos fandago malarcy on the discs is all in an effort to...
right after much messing around with options and etc the 172 conversion is now going ahead for my car - have managed to get together as much information as i need other than...
the electric rack in the 1.2 - can this just be disconnected along with the electric column wiring etc and just use...
is it a normal renault one
if they charge you i'd be surprised - one of the easiest to get off.
if you were closer id do it for you but if you want to have a crack yourself get a double hex socket thats slightly undersized for it and hammer it on (dont be shy needs to grip well) and undo it that...
has happened to me aswell horrible feeling isnt it.
another bad one was today parked up on the pavement where i always park at work have done for over 3 years and never had a problem driving off it with my lowered car.
today i must have drove off at a different angle as after id gone past the...
looks like its running ok to me looks fairly normal wear wise too.
as for the crap in the breather keep it clear and clean every now and then.
i prefer my breathers to vent to air personally. would rather that then all the sh*t gumming up the inlet manifold.
ideal situation is a catch tank
