little trick of the trade,, pull the fuse out, get yourself a 12v bulb holder and bulb and crimp some male spade terminals on it and plug it in where the fuse goes.
if circuit is ok you should never have more than a dim glow..
if it lights up bright (which it will in your case) you have a short...
as title, want to mess about with maps etc and do a power run with rs tuner tommorow..
any ideas where i can go?
do northweild have some sort of arrangement like that?
cheers
i still think its firing order, theres no 2 ways about it pulling a plug lead off at a time WILL make a difference esp if its running on 2 or 3 as pulling one strong cylinder off should stop it running all together,
how quick did you have it running when you did this test?
sounds like you have got the firing order wrong mate,,, one easy way to tell.
adjust the throttle cable so its running a tad faster than normal idle,
pull each plug lead off the coilpack one by one (again if you are carefull and the leads arent breaking down it wont shock you) but if you are...
nothing wrong with reusing pistons???
they dont magically shrink or expand just by pulling them from the bore
problems like that check the ring gaps before they go back in but other than that its fine.
mine has done this a few times,, i've still not sussed it out as it seems to be quite intermittant and not nessecerilly linked to rainy weather or aircon being on (car dosn't even have it anymore.
very strange
i use bosch in mine also,,, when someone prooves to me why not to then i may go along with it.
all this ngk or die rubbish is nonsense.
and yeah the plugs that were in my engine origionally gave me a bad flat spot at low revs and that was less than 70k
it wont be the head itself.
have a look in to how an engine works it will prevent you from being done over
it could be the head is warped,, but its unusual to get the same reading on each cylinder.
if this is the case its just a simple skim we chare 40 quid for this plus the head on/off job...
you can reuse the old ones i have done it on my own cars in the past but i wont do it for customers as pressing them out tends to press the grease out of the bearing and it shortens its life a fair bit
and cutting the disc takes too long
both ways you have checked for spark and fuel arent conclusive at all, do it properly. take a plug lead off the coil pack and get somone to crank it it will blatently obvious if you have a spark.
with fuel you can either check you have fuel pressure then check for inejction pulse by putting a...
ben you want to convert it to run off a speedo drive or the other way round.
if it has both the sensor and abs then yeah it can be configured to take the signal from either.
my setup came from a car with abs and had a speed sensor also, i removed all the wiring for the abs etc and my speedo...
