Looks like they take old keyboards and refurb them, also putting a usb on instead of the old ps2 one.
Assuming the car was new in 2003, it won't have had an mot until 2006, so where has the info come from before then?
Unless it had 5 owners in first 2 years (seems unlikely)

Why do you think Microsoft will do anything about it?
I didn't even know it was possible to get these repaired.
I'd have just accepted fate and binned it if it didn't turn on after trying to dry it out.
