Glazes and Using Glazes PT2...
Glazing: PT2
Just a few bits to talk about after covering the previous area. The products themselves, different types of glaze/cleanser and also glazing over good paintwork.
First up glazing over decent paintwork...
A lot of pro detailers don't feel the need to...
Thought i'd do a little write up on one of my favourite detailing steps.
Glazing: PT1
In the/My perfect detail these are the usual steps after wheels and washing:
Tar remover
Iron Remover
Clay
Polish
Cleanse
Glaze
LSP (Wax-Sealant-Nano Sealnt etc)
In most cases this is a kind of once - twice...
I use the Green one more aswell actually Dave, the green spot pad is fantastic for decent cut/polish.
I was trying for a happy medium with the white one. :)
Your car is RB so i'd go for a wax and a good durable started wax is this... http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Autoglym_HD_Wax_1.html That's a decent price. With a decent shampoo it'll last 6months+ mate. Apply about a panel at a time and remove. DO NOT DO THE FULL CAR. :)
The glaze is in...
He does realise resellers are branding stuff "safe" there for by association calling acidic wheel cleaners unsafe. Which they are.. for your skin.
I already offered! Miss his face!
You need Zaino Z2 or Gtechniq C1. I'm sure you don't actually care. :o
The mini looks brilliant! I never even knew the word detailing 6 years ago! Natty's Blue aswell, still a good wax!
Hmm, they are more valeting products than detailing but for that price it's not too bad. I could buy quite a few detailing bits with £25.
Not for me i'm afraid.
No forget LP, that's what Britemax is for. Britemax will cleanse and glaze mate. Leave a lovely surface for any lsp. :)
White pad for polishing, blue for cleansing/glazing. :)
Get Menzerna 106fa. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polish/menzerna-250ml/prod_217.html
Enough bite to remove...
It's very good. I'm not actually a bilberry fan. This is and always has been my favourite wheel cleaner... http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/brite-gel-non-acidic-wheel-cleaner-by-autobrite-various-sizes-2478-p.asp
I've yet to see another safe wheel cleaner clean like Brite Gel and i've tried a...
I personally would buy the polisher and pads/polish seperate, that's just me though.
http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Kestrel_DAS-6_Menz_Kit_1_1.html That kit is decent. Buy a glaze at the same time. Britemax Black max. :)
Menzerna pads aren't great but they would do mate.
I don't know why I bothered. Billy can use what he likes.
He knows whats best for him but when people come asking for advice in this section I hate seeing bad advice get given out.
Why take the risk with inferior wheel cleaners. They might never ruin your wheels but why take the chance when...
Well it's not. I'm not a Lemming, I actually have used the products I recommend or criticise. Autoglym do some very good products, their wheels cleaners are acidic, ie not good for wheels. It's pretty simple.
Autosmart are a good business and have been around for years. I wouldn't want to get...
Fast Glass is so so bad! I'm using Auto Finesse Crystal at the moment. Very good cleaner. The market is spoilt for choice with glass cleaners.
