We wouldn't put down for blending wings on 99.9% of bumper resprays but that doesn't mean the garage is wrong, they've seen the car and if they feel it's the best way that they would be happy with then i'd feel quite happy that you found a decent garage. I worry more when bodyshop quotes are cheap.

What makes you think you can half paint a bumper? You say that they would have to paint the full bumper but really that's the norm. 99% of the time you will have at least half basecoat and always full lacquer. Anyone who paints to the middle of the bumper unless it's very minimal corner damage...

Could be a case of them not feeling confident in the colour. Also it may already be out of colour.

You definitely don't pay for third party damage. Been in policies for years now. If the car was written off and you did claim they would simply take the excess off the settlement figure. Kinda weird when the settlement is less than the excess!

It depends on hourly rate. At £30 per hour i'd be looking at around £250 ish (maybe a little less) + vat.

Nasty, to do the job right, you're really painting the front door and blending the quarter panel. If someone says they'll match that colour edge to a good standard tell them I have a job opportunity for them we wouldn't in my bodyshop and we have one of the best colour libraries in Britain...
