My Clio with the engine in the wrong end

I'm considering putting normal ones back on for the summer....maybe.

Then took the dash and heater box out of the car. Then some ROPT510 turned up, you can guess what this is for! And then this happened :o Holy (literally) s**t :o I should add here, I had drafted in professional support! So...we are moving forwards :)

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

Over the weekend I did some work on the rollerskate to move the shell around, for when it gets blasted and paint and stuff. Check out my welds! Not bad for an amatuer :P My poor little plasma cutter was hard pressed on the really thick stuff (scrap I had lying about) but it just...

My Clio with the engine in the wrong end

The last couple of times driving the Vee I have noticed a bit of a crankcase smell hanging around, and then on my last drive a wisp of smoke out the sidepods, so I thought it best to investigate. Took all the trim off over the engine, then the inlet manifold. Had to take the drivers seat out...

YouTube. 182 Vs 197 drag race

    I'm game if you find a 182 and a 200 :)

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

I wish. At very best 2021. Not even considering it for this year. I'll have to slum it in the V6 &/or Meglio :)

RB PH1 172 Rally Car Progress

No worries, I actually stumbled on a Renault 21 Manual brake servo last week, snapped it up and the 197 brake master is a straight fit...which is nice haha!

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

As you have seen above I did the OSF inner wheel arch a while back but after seeing the shambles of the NSF subframe mount (which I excluded before as it "looked OK") I decided to go back and revisit it. As I drilled out the spot welds for the right angle bracket this fell out FFS... so I...

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

Then I made a new right angle bracket for the NSF wheel arch and reattached the leading edge. Tried to do the bracket in one piece but it looked shite so I made it in 2.

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

Back on the case this weekend. First off I had drawn up my car-rollerskate frame and my mate at Custom Metal Solutions fabbed it up for me. 4 Pneumatic wheels on the way for it. Also I decided against the 197 brake servo as I didnt wanna mod the turret to fit it in, and on the offchance...

    Copart CAT B 197....

As far as I recall the bidder was UK based, or, his IP address was at least. These was a Cat S LY Megane 225 went for close to a grand the other week too, that went to Belgium though.

    Copart CAT B 197....

No idea, i'd assume the box was toast though after an impact like that, would have smashed the shaft back into the diff. If I could have got it for less than the resale value of the lump I might have give it a shot. Some stuff on Copart lately is mental, I almost bought a Cat B Ultima Evo the...

    Copart CAT B 197....

Around £800 hammer plus fees and VAT so over a grand and then transport costs. Conversely I saw a Cat B 250 Megane go for £150 the other week, A Cat B shell can only be bought by someone with a Cat B license and a certificate of destruction for the shell must be provided in 30 days.

    Copart CAT B 197....

I was watching this - can't believe how much it went for! Anyone on here? Was hoping to bag it cheap for the seats lol

RB PH1 172 Rally Car Progress

Blimey, that was quite a read from the start to end...what a journey! Great thread! I found the thread from researching the compbrake brake setup you didn't get along with. I've been looking at one to use on my project as an option, along with a servo conversion and a few variations of both. OE...

    New owner of a V6.

Mad isn't it, basically they just hacked a shell apart and welded some stuff in. Badly. They took a standard Mk2 shell, whacked it on a jig and plasma cut half of it away. You can see on mine on the front end where they cut the front slam about to fit the bigger rad, they didnt even tidy the...

    Chi's Clio Collection

She understands it from her own house yeah :P i'm getting all of this done before she moves in and puts the brakes on haha. To be fair she did question the bucket seats and 2 sets of wheels in my bedroom cupboard but I cleared her a drawer for some weekend stuff and gave her a slot for her...

    Chi's Clio Collection

I built myself a huge garage after the big clearout, so big in fact I was sure i'd have all the space i'd ever need. So anyway, it's full now.... and i've built extra storage under the floor in my living room, with access trapdoors. I mean, wasted space otherwise right?

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

Finally I started cleaning up the front part of the wheel arch I removed to access the chassis rail and subframe mount. I had to replace a small section that had been eaten away by the rust monster. I sized it up for refitting - debating whether to re-use that curved bracket that joins it...

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

This was a tricky little bugger to make, the aperture where the track rod arm comes through the turret. The arms on a 21 are huge, they bolt to the end of the rack in the middle of the car (so the rod arms span the whole width of the car and run across the middle of the bulkhead) Getting...

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

Update a week early this time. I swapped my weekend with the brats to next week under request from the ex so off I toddled into the garage. I carried on trying to put the NSF chassis rail back together, hoping i'd get that done and start taking the front part other one apart as now I have seen...

    Chi's Clio Collection

I have a little experience - non trader just in it for s***s and giggles and i've been up to 14 cars owned at once, though that was a few years back. I have settled down to 5 keepers and one or two in and out ad-hoc now. I can also keep everything at home, so I don't pay for storage. First off...

    Phase 1 Renault 9 Turbo

Thanks - worked hard for it, waited for over ten years to build it (Time, money, kids arrived, breakup, yada yada) and then took me another three to get it to the operational state its in now with a bunch of hard work and support from some amazing mates. Of course, there's a build thread lol...

    Phase 1 Renault 9 Turbo

Gravitex but probably for the wrong reasons. Gravitex is cheaper (but still an excellent quality product) It's also spray-on giving a nicer and thicker finish (see earlier pics in thread), IIRC the Bilt stuff is brush on. I am fortunate to have a very hefty 250L compressor though so I get...

    My Renault 21 Quadra Supershed

Sunday I chucked some Bonda primer at it and made some cardboard templates, but spent most of the day trying to paint her bumper. Painting is hard!

    Phase 1 Renault 9 Turbo

Bagged some brand new old stock front indicator lenses from Greece this week. The original backing units should be OK to use after a clean.
