    Renault K4M 1.6 16v Questions

First step in these situations is to replace the pedal and the body. One of them usually fixes it. Also check for loom damage I've seen that before as well. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Yes that's it at the back of the clock. Usually falls out of it's holder and into the dash. I don't remember the exact process to be honest, the force reidentification option just pulls the ID data out of each module agin rather than using the cache it gathers on the first scan so that's not...

Yep still lurking! The sunshine sensors always fail I'd probably not worry about it too much unless they're cheap. It just give the climate an idea of how much solar heating you're getting and adjusts the climate to suite. In addressed ballasts can't be identify individually hence the need to...

Yeh still lurking around every know and again, I wouldn't have thought it would damage anything but I won't personally bother either, they are on the tighter side but you can get them in with threaded bar and two plates if you haven't got access to a press without too much hassle. Just make sure...

The 'dark side' is an encoder for the ABS so very much needs to go on the inside and don't damage it they aren't overly hardy.

Have they got the foam seals fitted? If not this always happens.

You can get the balljoints on their own now can't you? Forgot you've already replaced them unlikely to wear that quickly so probably not that anyway.

Could also be the balljoints in the wishbone seeing as you've replaced the lower bearings already (unless you've made a pigs ear of it ;)). Creaking is the column i'm afraid it's a meg 2 thing, not just the rs models will be one of the bearings on it. And very much not cheap to sort. Brake...

0.2 bar is as good as practically empty in fact i'd bet it wasn't far from the tolerance of the sensor!, as said i'd be wanting a vacuum test first as if that hasn't got a leak i'll be amazed.

No fault with no/low AC pressure definetly nothing to reset, it will just show the inhibit in the data pages. It's not a switch @Daz. it's a sensor and to change it will release any gas left in the circuit, they're also £100+ last time I checked. It is unfortunately in a vunerable position on...

Are the lock buttons and aerial still under a tender? Think I changed mine twice both sides, to hell with pissing about soldering buttons in when they're so cheap.

Only a ton??? They only get into their stride at 100 buttons, not that I'd know officer ahem. Anywho, what does the ac gas pressure read? Feck all I'm guessing? Also don't run the compressor with no gas in the circuit (and hence no/low oil) as you'll then be on the lookout for a new compressor...

Agh i'd wish i'd spoken to you about this before you committed yourself, the combined line and identical sensors makes sense now as that short is critical to identifing the front/rear sensor hence why it doesn't work it (now) obviously uses some method of bus connection to pass the signals...

Of fucked level sensors or Renaults shitty refusal to just sell the loom components rather than the whole bloody thing? Check on both. And I bet it comes with the crappy purple wires on everything rather than the proper colours too.

Creaking column isn't rare unfortunately and i'm pretty sure its a new column as well, would have to check up on that to be 100%. Also that loom won't come like the last one fully complete just plug it in it'll be a repair loom so it will need to be cut and soldered in and the joints carefully...

Stop putting axle stands on the rear jacking points it's making me cringe everytime! The rear beam mounting plates are ideal spots to put them. Anywho, the front and rear sensors share the same supply comes from fuse F8D on the UPC and splits to the front and rear. As Paul says that connectors...

No you don't need to do the one at a time unless you loose their address which you haven't (yet!!!). Yes i'd try calibrating if you've got a signal, my front sensor never worked (or read on clip) but I assumed it was fudged and never bothered to replace it but now i'm wondering if there's more...

Good, you might be able to dig yourself out of this yet then. Check the front height sensor plug when the headlights are on you should have 12v between pins 1 and 5 (green and black). The weird thing with how the sensors are wired is that they are wired in parallel which I can only assume so...

First things first, you've got to find some self control with this or you are just going to end up in a world of pain. You have to remember you aren't supposed to have this and you also by virtue don't have the renault technical backup if you f**k up. That said to sort this you need to get both...

Vehicle speed is because they rise up at a certain speed, will have to check the wiring diagrams to be sure how it's passed to the lights. UCH error will be a keyless aerial check the one in the boot or the one in the center console, see which one isn't reporting on the diagnosis page first...

What have you done lighting loom wise? Turn discharge lamp off and do left and right coslad and see what happens. R.e. Airbags, you've now disabled the pretensioners so they'll never operate, so best to put them back on. Where find the seats/pretensioners come from? R26? Seem to think oem they...

Both the uch and airbag controllers hold a copy of the can topology as it should be hence xenons need adding on both, iirc there is a screen that shows you a comparison of the two anyway. Force ignition on is key in slot, press and hold the start button without touching pedals and it will come...

Also are you forcing the ignition on before doing this? Lack of airbag and epas says not.
  27. B

Nickson's RenaultSport Megane 225 Trophy Progress Blog

You need the lights turned on to be able to communicate with them, same as they only do the auto-level once they've been ignited. Yours is an early one where the lights aren't independent controllers left and right but it should still stand.

Yeh as Paul says don't touch programming, that's to completely rewrite the firmware of the device. Not advisable in your position, may happen at a Renault dealer with updates etc but not something to attempt at home. All you are doing is altering the configuration of the airbag controller to...

    ABS Causes Idle to Wander??

I would imagine not a common problem as mine was self inflicted by accidentally bending the skuttle drain hose back on itself so the skuttle wouldn't drain.

If you ever do it again the first thing to do after fitting the box and getting the bolts in is to get a good clutch pedal first, then no biggy if you have to take the box off again. You should be able to get a good pedal with some pissing around prefilling is definetly the way forward but it's...
