The last 2 days when pulling out the carpark at work the abs pump has gone mental for the first few presses of the brake, then after that is fine.
It seems a completely different fault to when I had a duff rear sensor, as that just lit the abs light permanently and I could feel slight feedback...
The sound deadening under my bonnet is falling to bits.
Do bog standard mk2 clios have this or is it only on 182 and 172s?
If a normal mk2 has it then there's a good chance I'll be able to get one cheap from a scrappy.
Hi guys. I've just ordered this, there's 1 left. I messaged the company asking if it was brand new sealed and they confirmed.
It matches the Renault part number for a 182 or 172 cambelt kit and seemed too good to be true.
If anybody knows a reason why I should cancel the order let me know...
Non Clio related, but I need an oil filter for our 1.5dci juke.
I dont get it though, eurocarparts list 2 different filters, construction year from 05/2013 and a filter year to 04/2014.
But gsf list 2 different ones. Construction year from 05/2014 or year to 04/2014.
Hi guys. Well I completed my clutch change, drove it to work this morning and now have the abs light.
Now I'm pretty sure that the issue is that when I undid the pinch bolt I rotated the steering wheel a few times when reconnecting the joint and I recon this had knocked out my steering angle...
Could somebody do me a massive favour and post a picture of how that black bracket attaches to the dog bone mount and gearbox.
I took it off yesterday doing my clutch change and can't work out how to put the thing back on!!
I'm doing the clutch tomorow on the 172 and my biggest mistake last time i did a clutch was not getting the car high enough.
I own 4 axel stands but only ever use 2 on the front chassis rails and leave the rear sat on the wheels.
Would it be safer to put the rear on stands too on...
I'm going to do my clutch at the weekend and am going to lower the subframe to go live better access rather than strip the bay out completely and try doing it from the top.
I'm assuming that the captive nuts will spin.
What's the best tool to get in there with and what size will I...
While my subframe is down next week I'm going to change the inner roll bar bushings as they are looking a little perished.
I've seen on autodoc some febi bilstein ones with the same OEM part number as the ones listed on result parts direct, but including postage they are still only...
Has anybody tried to change the clutch on a 172 without moving the subframe?
About 7 years ago I did it on a 182 and I'm 99% sure all I did was remove both driveshafts and slid the box over into the arch and left the subframe in place as the bolts were spinning and it left me just enough room...
Hey guys. I'm toying with the idea of buying a civic fn2 as I'm getting a bit bored with the clio, but I think the only thing really letting it down is the gearbox/shifter.
I've replaced the bushes with yanoo brass ones and also replaced the white bits at the selector end with genuine Renault...
My cambelt is due in June and I'm going to do it myself to save a few quid. Tools are 150, everybody wants 300 labour to do it.
What's the average life or a dephaser pulley? Mine was changed at 93k 5 years ago on its last belt change.
The car is currently on 118k, so it's not really done many...
Got my cup spoiler back from the paint shop, they did a fantastic job for 50 quid.
But I can't for the life of me get the thing sitting flush.
I've managed to get it the same height both sides but it feels like it should be a cm or so lower on both edges.
But the hight between the spoiler...
I'm on the lookout for a cup spoiler to go on my monaco 172 but I've got a few questions.
1 - is a 172 cup spoiler exactly the same as a 182 cup packed spoiler in terms of wiring etc?
2 - is it just a case of bodging the wiring to get the brake lights to work? I read somewhere that...
Has anybody added a centre section to a ktec stealth system?
My exhaust is too loud so thought about adding a middle silencer to it, but ktec don't seem to sell the stealth any more so it doesn't look like I can just buy the sports centre section.
Would it be simple enough to cut...
Can the aux belt tensioner be bought separately?
I'm running a wrc air con delete and my belts are due in July but it seems daft to buy a full aux belt kit when all I will need from it is the tensioner, as the belt and idler pulley are different.
Europarts list it for around £250...
Wondering if anybody can help with my abs fault before I have to give in and pay somebody to plug it in and get a code.
Abs light comes on at startup and doesn't go out, can also feel the pedal pulsing when braking.
So fault finding up to now..
I disconnected the rear sensors at the...
Chuffing alternator just shat itself so need one asap.
Do either of the 2 options on eurocar parts fit a 172 with ac or am I going to have the same issue I had trying to get their handbrake cables to fit?
Just got in the car and put the wipers on, they hardly moved and then popped the fuse.
So i this time I gave them a helping hand so the fuse didn't pop and they slowly started to get a bit better but I have to give them a nudge initially to get em started.
Is it more likely to be a knackered...
Just realised my rear right caliper is seized so been to euros to pick up a new one.
On removing the pads I noticed on the back of the pads there is a notch sticking out.
Is this notch correct to be sat inside the cut outs in the piston?
Only reason I thought not is that as the piston...
Finally got around to starting the fix on my filler flap rust.
So i started by drilling the 3 rivets off to get rid of the plastic cover.
Drilled the bottom bolt of the flap out and half of the top bolt so I can leave the flap on for now as it's going dark so I'll continue tomorow...
Today we put 500 deposit down on a 2012 Nissan duke for the wife.
I think we got him down to a fair price for a good spec car with low mialeage to be honest.
We got him to agree to get a cambelt fitted and also a small dent which will need repairing on the lower passenger side...
The handbrake on my 172 is shocking.
I recently fit a pair of new genuine cables and both calipers seem to function ok.
It's running oem brembos and standard disks both look in decent condition.
Are there any stickier pads out there which might improve it?
It does hold but I have to pull...
Got a little un on the way so am looking at options for a child seat.
I didn't think that a 172 had isofix but apparently it has? Wev also got a mk3 1.4 Clio and all the seats are clearly labelled up with little isofix tabs so I know it's got it, bu theres no such tabs on the 172...
I was thinking of giving my rear beam a sand down an painting and add some powerflex bushes while I'm at it so had a quick luck under to see what it involves.
Looks to me like it's a case of get the brakes off and remove the bolt on each side which goes through the Bush?
I'm sure I read...
Well the left ha d cable snapped when the mot tester did the brake test so I went to eurocarparts and managed to find the cable which apparently fits.
The actual cable seems to be the correct length but the issue I'm having is the casing isn't quite long enough to allow the metal bit to locate...
Are there any basic mods I have missed here that could get me out the house to spend some time under the car without spending a fortune?
Currently got all the usual, new cup shocks, eibatch springs, SS exhaust, powerflexed front end and dogbone, rebuilt the front calipers and replaced the...
I've been contemplating boosting my 172 with an ED low boost setup.
How much insurance premium increase have people on here Had to pay on a low boost setup?
I currently pay 300 for the year fully comp with all basic mods declared. Exhaust, fatty induction etc.
If insurance is...
