STOP slatting the 197. Get a life - if you don't like it don't buy it. Don't even start preaching about being entitled to an opinion... I think deep down you cannot come to terms with the fact that the 172/182 has been consigned to history even though it remains an excellent hot hatch...

Id say for pure fun especially around the twisties get a 182. Its dynamically flawless and blessed with a sweet chasis. Also slightly cheaper to buy & run although residual value & build quality is poor. Have to say though that I think the driving position/seat is not as bad as some critics...

As above. Get a low milage 182 - someone wld have done the running in for you and taken the first year depreciation!

Definately the V6 though got some reservations about it being a mark1 V6.

If you take it easy for the first few weeks (get to know the car first) you should be fine.

Do a search for induction kits then buy one. Change the exhaust. Try Viper, Hill, KC etc. Use optimax only. Ditch your seats and mates. Never fill up more than 1/2 tank. Lose weight. Go for track days. Find new roads or drive at night. Check tyre pressure. If all this fails save up £££!!!

Try the SEAT Leon Cupra R with 225bhp (easily chipped to 270bhp) same 18" OZs wicked Recaro seats (if fitted) Brembo brakes and most of all it wont cost the earth. You can get the yellow one!!!

V6 everytime if money is no object. Remember Jeremy Clarkson saying there is definately a place for the Clio v6 in his perfect ten car garage - although that Tiff (what does he know) will disagree.

So how much does installation cost and where? Cheapest price Ive found just for the unit is approx £1 100. McBunny is already enjoying whats still a dream for me. Ill probably go all the way & hook up a reversing camera + powered subwoofer!

Unless shes a very competent girl racer and disciplined (only you have the answer to that incidentally!), Id say get ABS - coz shell be tempted to push and we all know what could happen IF shes not proficient.
