Halfords Advanced 2 ton low profile trolley jack

Heads up - this isn’t on the website but down to £130 in some stores. With trade card it came down to £104. By comparison, the non low profile mode is £200 and £160 on the card. It’s a big heavy bugger but 3 year warranty and overkill for what I use it for.

    Brighter interior bulb

Any pointers for a decent dimmable replacement bulb for the interior and map reading lights? Can’t be doing with flickering LED’s and the existing one is a nasty off yellow.

    Captur

Picked this up for Mrs C last Friday. Not a bad little thing at all. RS Line with the 1.3 engine. Dealer didn’t touch the car so spent a few hours washing, single stage polish and Gtechniq CSL/Exo to the paint and 2 coats of Carbon Collective to the wheels inside & out. Just glass and interior...

    New daily

Picked this up on Wednesday. Petrol DSG. Third mark 3 I’ve had and first petrol. I traded the last one as values are daft and it was valued for trade-in at almost £3k more than I paid for it 2 years ago. Bonkers. Initial impressions are very good. There’s a lot which is identical to the last...

    C&M drive 24/7/21

With some help from @Tim we have a suggested route for next Saturday. 7.15 Chieveley services then B4494 to Wantage. A338 to Wantage then up to the A420 past Williams F1 and joining the A420. @Tim. Are you OK to take the lead on this bit and I’ll take over once we hit the A34? A420 to the...

    Alignment advice

I’ve never had the alignment done properly and having some bits done next week it’s about time I sorted it. Spec will be PMS solid top mounts Standard shocks Eibach Sportline springs Camber bolts Road use only - no plans for any track stuff. And any good alignment places in north Hampshire...

    Phase 1 indicator stalk

Going down this route to avoid turning my car into a ball of shiny flames. Is genuine best bet? Seem to be a few new aftermarket on eBay - are they generally crap?

    Wobbly wheel

So loose wires fixed and running without mishap and another issue pops up to say hi. Picked up some vibrations through the steering and the wheel now moving when stationary. Checked Allen screws holding wheels to boss and none loose. Play is best described as a few millimetres when moving to...

    Backfire

This car doesn’t like me. More spluttering today and then a backfire and flames out of the exhaust. Stuttering and not running nice at all and a 90 mile drive home from Caffeine & Machine ahead. Everything’s been changed for new so any ideas?

    172 exhaust

I have a ECP pattern centre and rear section and they’re both past it. Rattle a lot and back box doesn’t sit right - never has. I don’t want to spend a fortune and even the pattern parts seem to have rocketed. Before I “have to” bite the bullet on a PMS or Ktec, or even something custom made...

    Seatbelt re-colouring

Has anyone swapped out their belts for different coloured? Fancy yellow to tie in with the rest of the interior highlights. Any recommended companies?

    Ignition leads

Has anyone used these? I don’t know how old my genuine leads are and figured while I’m tidying up and painting stuff I might as well replace after the misfire issue I had last year. I replaced coilpack but like everyone haven’t done many miles in the car since...

    Light reading!

Thought some of you guys might be interested in an interview I did just before Christmas. https://locktonperformance.com/news/the-mclaren-f1-qanda-with-adrian-newey.html

    Ignition leads / coil

Searched but no joy. Looking for OEM leads but it sounds like they’re NL. If this is the case, what do people recommend for replacement? Car is standard. RPD show a Valeo coilpack as being the only available replacement. Again, is this the suggested best replacement as it can be found cheaper...

    Audi Q8

I only detail now for mates and a very few clients from my full-time detailing days. This Q8 comes from a chap who has an RS4 and a beautiful Renault 8 Gordini replica amongst others. It replaces an X3M which I detailed new last year that he had issues with and moved on. Dealer instructed not...

    182 AV05 VBU

A mate’s just bought this. CS sticker in window, lots of history/paperwork including recent EFI printout. Needs some TLC but it drives really nicely. Anyone know the car?

    75mm polisher

Long shot but is anyone selling a small DA or rotary? Not a brand snob so not fussed. Would prefer corded ideally. Thx!

    Belt protector plate

https://www.apmotorsport.co.uk/product-page/cambelt-protection-plate Anyone fitted one of these? Worthwhile? I’m about to have the belts done and wondered if sensible to add a) to protect the belt and b) as I’m spending almost £700 on the car.

Full Gtechniq Serum Ultra Detail plus PPF to front end, side skirts and diffuser. Factory sanding marks and swirls on every panel so quite a challenge but well worth it :)

    Rear silencer / tailpipe

This is hurting my brains First pic is what’s on the car, third is what Euros just tried to sell me (part number ‭70 5740 891‬) and second is what I found after a quick eBay search which looks right. The Euro part doesn’t have the hanger anywhere near the right position and the section where it...

Alfa - one of my favourites!

Had this for the last few days for its annual Gtechniq top-up. One of my absolute favourites we’ve had in the last year.
