I’m stripping the last items from my phase 2 172 track car and I’d like to ditch the climate and run a very basic matrix to heat the screen.
I’ve fitted a Cup blower which I’ll run off a switch as the loom wiring is different.
Can I run the stock matrix in a similar way and run it off a...
Bit if a strange one but here goes.
I currently have an E92 M3 and have just taken a more senior role that will bring about 15k a year of driving, previously I had none.
The mileage rate is 14p diesel and 17p but I can claim the difference from HMRC so that's no issue.
Despite being a...
Afternoon all,
My girlfriend had an accident this afternoon on the motorway as a car in front slammed on to miss a car in front of him and she tagged the back of him.
The damage isn't bad on either car and a respray on both bumpers would suffice and I'm not even sure it's worth my girlfriend...
I was worried the new rules would render the Clio useless after removing the airbags and the ABS.
As I was having the M3 MOT'd this morning, I was chatting about the warning lights as I've blanked the ABS and airbag lights off at present.
The Guy said it's quite clear to see that there are...
I removed the standard dash bar and had a dash bar fitted to my cage.
The dash top is all i'm fitting to tidy the wiring etc but its drooling around at the moment due to lack of the Renault bar and the clocks are loose.
Any tips on what to use as support, mounts for either?
I have the Cup setup fitted and want to lose the bulky lower bracket as I'm fitting a Saxo PAS pump.
Does the lower bracket work with a Cup alternator? Or does the Volvo top bracket also work then I can sell on the Cup setup?
I'm obsessed by weight loss at the moment and have thinking about hole sawing.
The car is stripped completely. Any tips on hole sawing, should I, shouldn't I, where to if so etc?
I've fitted a Cup blower to my 172 but it doesn't work as they're wired differently.
Electrics aren't my strong point.
Could something like this be used to regulate the speed of the blower if I splice it into a switched live...
I'm about to fit a Cup master cylinder and Cup racer brake lines which require one of the rear ports to be blanked but where can I get one from?
i've searched eBay etc to no avail.
I've been grinding and drilling spot welds from my interior for weeks.
Now I'm done there are loads of patches around the doors and boot where metal shards have sat on the paint and started to rust.
The car hasn't had a good clean for ages either. I don't want to spend a mint and I'm not...
I tested the union that fits into the Clio PAS pump into the Saxo pump last week and they appear to be the same thread. Is this correct as I don't have the saxo line?
I've removed the engine fuse box cover as I want to fit an open fine like the Cup racers to just in front of the near side turret.
There isn't actually a huge amount inside the fuse box, probably 1/3 to 1/4 of the space available.
The car is a pure track car so do I;
1. Attach to the in ear...
I want to fit a set of fixed buckets with side mounts bolted directly to the car. From what I can gather, the standard seat rails aren't up to the job?
I was thinking of fitting something like these...
And I gained 1.7%! Or the equivalent of 30cc.
Each unit should flow 240cc per minute. Two were at 234, one was at 232 and one was at 230.
The engine is a phase 1 on about 80k. Can't say I'm disappointed as I know they're right now and at £57 returned from injectortune hardly expensive. I'll...
I posted this in Other for sale somehow.
My Brother removed my slam panel but never kept the bolts. Now I need to make some brackets to hold the grille.
These are the 4 that hold the slam panel to the headlight panel. Does anyone knows the bolt size and thread unless someone has a set lying...
I've got a Cup engine loom to fit and plan to remove a few unused plugs to tidy things up.
I unplugged the carbon canister solenoid today and left the car idling. There was no EML or any impact on the running.
The EML doesn't bother me as I'll just tape it up. Are there any implications of...
Just been trawling Imageshack.
She used to be cleaned every week, clayed and sealed regularly.
Then Doncaster_K9 bought it off of me for £1,200 after the head gasket went the day I picked up my first M3.
He fitted a new engine amongst other bits like solid engine mounts, Cobra Daytonas...
I know it's only one piece but I've started now and leaving it half done would do my t!ts in!
It's the one above the fuel filler which is much more hidden. Any tips or special tools?
(Poor) pictures of mine for anyone interested.
Airbag wiring, all unused plugs clipped back, heatshrink and the loom retaped.
You can just see the hazard panel on top of the clocks in the first pictures. I have also relocated the OBD port to where the heater rear screen button used to be...
The track Clio I'm building caused a bit of a debate with me and my brother yesterday about its weight. He came out with some crazy figure of 700kg and I said 950kg.
Any thoughts?
The spec will be;
FF car
Fibreglass bonnet and boot with poly rear.
All tar patches removed
ABS removed for Cup...
The car is Iceberg which would be nice but this would take a lot of prep and I'd be upset if I marked it.
Satin black would be minimal prep, cheap and I could do it myself but it makes the interior look a bit grim.
White would take some prep but I could still do it myself and I could touch...
I stripped a previous loom methodically by removing all loom wrap, marked all redundant plugs and traced them back to the plugs and removed the pins. This failed for some reason, as others have said, I don't think these looms like being disturbed.
So I fitted a new standard loom and gave up...
I've had my Brothers mate around tonight to look at fitting my 6 point bolt in cage.
To fit 3mm plates to the front and rear feet, box section for the main hoop with captive nuts, build 2 door crosses with gussets he reckons £250.
Now I'm not sure if that's with or without materials at this...
