Happening this winter, probably one of the biggest changes to the Indy circuit for a good few years. Graham Hill Bend has been played around with in the past but this is a big change.
In other words, it simply won't exist anymore.
Doesn't appear to be that widely known about but it would...
A bit of an odd one this one. I need a decent picture of the boot floor on a 182, in particular the area directly below the tailgate catch where the boot floor meets the rear panel.
IIRC it falls away slightly as it meets the rear panel so that to the uneducated eye it looks like the boot floor...
Well it’s been nigh on 7 years since I bought RF52 WYW back in June 2005 and the car is 10 years old this December.
In celebration of these two ‘milestones’ I thought its about time I created a project thread, or in this case, a documentary of its history up to now, as I never intended it to be...
I know this is usually James' baby to organise but he slacked last month so to give enough notice for this month I thought I'd nick his Rep hat and get the ball rolling.....anyway, you know the drill.
Meet in the 2 RIVERS car park (PC world side) @ 7:30pm & then cross the road & go into Nando's...
Part number geeks need only apply to answer this one.
Two front shock absorbers, both Renault (KYB) and both supposedly for a PH1 172 but both with differing part numbers, albeit one digit out.
82 00 681 105
82 00 681 106
Which is the correct one for the car?
My brother bought his PH1 with a stack of history and receipts at the tail end of last year. Car is in pretty good shape barring some odds and sods but it would appear it is wearing positive camber on the front. Not only that but it has pretty much ruined the inside edge of what were a nearly...
A lesser spotted Cup is mine these days, appearing on roads every other full moon, track day outing or for mechanical fettling. Not as picture whored or as well documented as the FailTrophy or the Nick172 Cup but no less capable (i will argue). On this occasion I thought I'd take some pics to...
The new layout looks fantastic. Still a big power circuit but the infield section now gives it an extra dimension. Love the new layout at the final corner as well.....i hated that chicane!
Can't wait to have a go...
A few choice pics from yesterday....had plenty to choose from as we had 75 pics taken! :approve:
A mix of Tom and I driving, some in the morning when it was wet, some in the afternoon when it was dry.
Unfortunately none of us going majorly sideways (and catching it;)).
Fortunately none of me...
Well the time has come for an insurance company swap.
Just cancelled my Direct Line policy this morning as they want an extra £200 to insure my 172 Cup even though i only use the poxy thing about 3 days a week...so it was set to be £763 for the year...and thats BEFORE I was going to declare a...
Been perusing the Pistonheads classifieds for a diesel wagon to replace the 106 and I stumbled upon "The Beast".

And remember, those of you rushing for your phones, no 'TEST POILETS'.;)
The same type you will find in nearly every BMW and some Honda's.
Are there any known conversion kits out there to allow this to do be done on the 1*2 (or any other car for that matter) ?
Its not something i've investigated in much depth yet but surely there must be a way for this to be done?
Cup packed, with yellow and black painted bullets and a 182 Inside sticker in the rear window.
Mrs just spotted it on the Eddie Stobart program on C5!
Edit: And im about 2 minutes too late posting it would seem.
A cracking was had by all of the JMS, Failsport and the lone SanerSaxShed yesterday at Snett. ;)
Once again we were mixing it with all manner of hyper, Sir_Dave tenting type BMW's, GTR's, X-Bows, a Clio 200 Cup series car (an absolute weapon) and your usual weird and wonderful track fodder...
This evening at about 7pm. I don't usually flash other Sports but you flashed pretty much the same time as me.
Looked very clean. Hello whoever you may be!:approve:
Well its long overdue really. Something i want to maybe try and make a bit regular, so meet at the Spectrum for about 7.30pm.
Bit of a bowl then maybe down to the Parkway for some food after.
1. Ollie
Heading south from the Dartford crossing section of the M25 yesterday afternoon around about 12ish...maybe earlier.
I was heading north on the same stretch going to Bluewater...
The other halves 182 has been having a few cold running problems recently other than the usual lumpiness.
Its very reluctant to rev until its warmed up and the idle is very rough.
Again, this goes away once warm but it has bought up the emissions warning light.
I used an OBD II reader to read...
Have myself a set of part worn 195/50/16's for track work coming up.
Has anyone with experience with these in this size had problems with rubbing?
My Cup is indeed lower than normal but its not "slammin". Im not overly concerned if they rub a touch but i wanna make sure they don't destroy...
172 Cup, L*52 KYK, on the A3 this morning heading north this morning between Guildford and the M25. About 8.25 ish.
Black 04 plate 182 on the anticlockwise M25 this evening. Followed it on from Junction 11 and came off at Junction 10. About 6.15 ish.
I know the paint code for Monaco Blue code is 432 but it turns out that there are about FIVE versions of this colour that Nexa/ICI Autocolour list for Renault.....all with subtle shade differences.
For Renaults between 96-03
Monaco Blue/Bleu Methyl
432 - No 1
432 - Variant L
