just been to a mates house and he has one running under his tv.
i have a media centre pc under my tv at the moment, but his mac mini was almost silent and very slick, and obviously much smaller than my media centre.
anyway, i was wanting to buy one to replace my media centre and was wondering...
when my beta copy expires (i think it's august?), will i be able to upgrade to a retail copy with relatively little hassle, or will i have to start from scratch again when i go to install windows 7 retail?
cheers.
i'd quite like a set of bluetooth headphones so that i can use them at they gym with my ipod and nike+ without getting annoyed with dangling cables.
anyone got any recommendations? it obviously needs some kind of transmitter to transmit the sound from the ipod to the headphones. i like the...
i want a cool looking wireless keyboard and the apple wireless keyboard seems to fit the bill.
anyone using it with a pc?
do i just need a bluetooth dongle to connect it?
any reason not to go for this keyboard?
i see some tv's are starting to come with freesat built in. is it better than normal freeview other than the fact that it uses a satallite so will work in areas with poor freeview reception.
i have just sold my tosh 47wlt66 as i wanted something newer.
so, looking for similar size as i have at present, 47".
would like 50" if possible. seen one in tesco for around £750 i think it was, not sure if it's 1080p though.
my problem now is that i have an HD projector and play most of...
i don't play games on my pc, i just use it for downloading stuff and as a media centre pc for playing movies (dvd, divx, and HD stuff).
my current asus p5b-e seems to be on its last legs. i am running a 512mb 8600gts, 2gb of ddr2 ram (nothing special, just basic value stuff), and a c2d 6300...
you put cables inside them and lay them on the floor so people don't trip over the cables.
can anyone tell me what the proper name of them is so i can find one to buy online/on ebay?
cheers.
i have just purchased myself a nice optoma ep1691 720p HD projector and i am lacking in funds to purchase a screen at the moment.
what are the downsides of just projecting onto a white wall?
also has anyone used this projector, if so what did you think? i am buying it blind without ever...
basically i moved into a flat 3 months ago and took out a virgin media contract for phone/broadband/tv.
now 3 months on i find out that the landlord hasn't paid the mortgage and the flat is being reposessed so i am having to move out, which in itself isn't an issue cos i've found a much nicer...
i vaguely remember someone asking this before, but i can't find the thread.
anyway i need to force my laptop to display a 720p or 1080i resolution. I know it can support these resolutions cos when i plug my 24" monitor into it i can display them fine, but when i plug my 47" HDTV into my laptop...
gone and got one off a guy at work.
i know it's a bit late now, but am i gonna be pleased this tv?
i've googled and seen the review by trustedreviews, and a few others, but i want to hear real life stories, not picky reviewers who are used to viewing top of the range or high end sets.
cheers.
my dad is looking to buy a laptop and these are extremely cheap. i really just need to know if anyone has got one or used one and if there was any reason not to bother with these laptops?
cheers.
grrrrrrrrrrr, sat up till 4.30am last night trying to work out why my pc was hanging on the windows splash screen on boot up.
even installed a new copy of vista onto my pc and that did the same thing.
event viewer was throwing up "network location awareness" errors, but it never struck me that...
a friend has a piece of spyware on their pc, i have done EVERYTHING to try and get rid of it, but it won't go away.

ok, so i know it's an extra tenner a month, but do i have to pay for an extra sky+ box on top of that, and will i have to pay somebody to come and do an install as my sky+ box is in my room and i want to pay to have an extra box downstairs for my parents?
for me this month....
8gb new ipod nano, and an archos 605 wifi 30gb.
very very pleased with both the nano and the archos, the train journey into work in the morning has suddenly become much less of a bore.
so, what have ya got this month, and would you recommend it?
i can hear is beeping when i call somebody, when i say beeping i mean through the earpiece. it's a little annoying and not sure why it does it. the beeps don't seem to be evenly spaced either, they just kinda happen whenever, lots together or space apart.
anyone else using route 66 with the internal gps reciever yet?
bit of a hassle signing the software to your imei, but once it's working it picks up the satallites quicker than the standard maps software.
can't wait for tomtom to hurry up and sort out internal gps support though, cos although...
i'm having sky+ installed in my room on monday, i don't have a phoneline in here, only broadband. the nearest phone socket it over the other side of the house in our office.
what will the sky installer do about this?
he can't put an extension cable from here to there because we have wooden...
it's mainly helpdesk based, although you will go out on site too.
i will train you up for a month to begin with so you know who our customers are and how everything works.
there is a fair bit of AD/exchange and server admin, although masses of knowledge isn't necessary, but a little experience...
grrrr, was working on a site today doing some overtime and is it just me who gets really annoyed that people actually screw in their monitor plug into the back of their pc.
is there really any need?
it seems a really silly pet hate, but it really annoys me. it's not like the cable is gonna...
i'm talking people with a large amount of experience that are capable of taking on large scale projects, preferablly mcse, ccna, vmware, citrix, hp certified. if you don't have the qualifications but have large amounts of experience then the company would pay for you to take the certifications...
well kids, my tomtom go 710 made a bid for freedom at 100+ mph on the m25 while i was using it on my motorbike.
arse, best part of £300 down the drain and i wasn't chancing my luck running across the m25 to try and pick up the remains from the fast lane.
anyway, lesson learnt, the suction cup...
