So I called my local Renault dealer and they seemingly can't get hold of Mondial Blue touch-up paint any more...
I've found this on eBay - anyone tried it and able to offer feedback on the match etc...
I've got a buzzing/rumbling wheel bearing at the rear of my 172 Cup. Bought genuine discs with bearings pressed in and want to change this weekend, do I need to fit new hub nuts when re-assembling or can I use the old ones?
Cheers All,
Ben
Driving toward Thetford yesterday on A11 through Elveden Forest, a mk2 ph1 172 in silver came past heading toward Newmarket/Cambridge.
Dark wheels, decals on the rear quarters and very, very low.
Anyone on here?
Used my Clio this morning to commute from Norwich>Cambridge (interesting with the ice!). Using CD player more or less all of the way. When I got to Cambridge (around 1hour 15mins of 50-60mph A road cruising) there was a beep (heard this before with a corrupted CD) and the CD stopped playing...
Considering a DCI as a commuting vehicle/shopping trolley. Are they reliable, if not what generally goes wrong and is it easy to repair?
Are they as economical as the figures suggest?

Had a prob with my 172 last night, it was for a period but then started misfiring and hesitating. It was prettyh obvious the car was running on 3 cylinders with the 4th firing but by no means properly, this resulted in some quite nasty backfiring and serious hesitation under load. I drove...
Saw a Cup 172 **53 last night through the traffic lights on the A140 by Harford Bridges Tesco. You overtook a couple of cars through the lights (one of which was an Audi A4 Avant which I was in) and then stayed on the A140 over the roundabout/junction of the A47.
Car had a non-standard...
Just clocked up 55555 in my Cup. Did a 300 mile round trip in the pissing rain over the weekend, didn't skip a beat and returned 44mpg average. I really love this car, it is what it is - crap build quality, crap ride quality, crap residuals but such an involved and direct driving experience...
Cleaning my Cup 172 this afternoon, I jacked up the rear and removed the wheels to clean them thoroughly inside and out. The inside of both rear wheels seem to be suffering from quite sever corrosion, there is rust clearly bubbling underneath the paint, particularly on the inner section of the...
Saw you this afternoon at around 12.30-1.00. You came from CNS school and then followed me down Newmarket Road into Eaton before turning right at the traffic lights. Was a 172 Cup and looked rather nice.
Any takers? :rasp:
Was at Lloyds TSB in perrymount road Haywards Heath today for a meeting - during said meeting I looked out of the window and saw a nice Clio Cup 172 in the car park, a bloke then came out and started it up and drove off. Looked clean and was a 52 reg. Anyone?
Saw a blue 182 with anthracite wheels as I was exiting Norwich station last night - wheels looked smart, made me want to paint my turinis in that shade :rasp:
Anyone on here?
So one of the 1000 mile old Conti Sportcontact on the front has a rip in the raised rubber area on the rim. Looks scary, but I'm hoping it isn't as bad as it looks.
Can one of your knowledgable guys in here have a look and tell me what the score is with it?
This is my car, excuse the...
Car seems to have developed a slight short between the right hand indicators and the rear fogs.
Does anyone know if this is common and if so where I should be paying attention before I go searching the entire wiring loom. The fault only happens when the headlights are on, the rear lights show...
Does anyone find that their 172 Cup tends to track to the left if you are on a road with a steep camber? I'm unsure if this is commonplace of whether I need to get my alignment looked at.
