Very simple. I've replaced the lower inlet and have put the fuel rail back in but its not full of petrol since its been off the car. Do I just plug the fuel line back in and start the car and the air in the rail will get pushed clear. Or do I need to top the rail up first to get the air out...
Right so
Key in the ignition and turn in so all the lights come on, then go out one by one. Turn the key the last click to start the engine and nothing happens, engine doesn't turn over, just the lights on the display dim and go out like the battery is dead. Try to turn the key a few times...
Just curious. My ph2 172 is on 95k (bought it at about 78k and did belts, aircon delete and v6 induction almost immediately at JMS).
Love driving it, still pulls well, epic fun to drive (pms strut brace and solid top mount and rear arb) but have been thinking about a new car, spent weeks...
So wifes car was parked on street on the rd adjacent to ours. Just been out and the whole car has been keyed to f**k. This is the worst side. Bonnet has 3 big deep scratches and the other side is not far off being as bad as the picture.
No idea who or why, no run ins with anyone or anything...
Have read on here and been told that 2.5" is the ideal diameter for the exhaust pipe. Have seen a decent looking scorpion system 2nd hand for not much and was thinking about buying it, but looking at the Scorpion site the pipe is 2.125". Is this going to 'strangle' the power noticeably? I can't...
Right the cars on 94,400 miles. Its been making a whine which sounds like its coming from the passenger wheel or in that vicinity at pretty much exactly 68mph which quietens down to almost nothing by 70mph and below 65mph.
Have been freshening up bits and pieces and have done in the last 2...
Just swapped out the rear brake caliper, all fine, but when it put the brake line into the caliper the point at which its tight enough to stop fluid leaking out leaves the piston facing the wrong way.
Checked the calliper and line for anything stopping them tightening fully, nothing there in...
Had the car in the garage today to get the stupidly tight locking wheel nuts taken off the rears with some special tool to allow me to (for the first time ever take the rear wheels off) change the rear pads. Passenger side no bother, followed the really helpfull guide on here. Second side, wheel...
Car has recently taken to cutting out if I hit a particularly nasty pot hole (but also occasionally just on hard acceleration). It never stops running though. Sometimes the radio cuts out a pile of lights appear on the dash as if I've just started the car but it doesn't actually stall to the...
Changing this on the w/e. Just want to check as there's some varying answers in different threads - This is just pull out and shove the new one in right? No gearbox oil I know, but there's no clips or anything to worry about and its not a 'renault only' job is it?
Trying to eliminate some steering vagueness and having read a few threads i believe the inner arb bushes can cause problems. looks pretty perished to me - worth changing and will i notice a difference?
Also read the guide for changing the outers in the guide section as my o/s outer is a bit...
At 30 posted each they only workout £20 or so more than a pair of ball joints form ecp which is what I was after but for £20 seems like I mat as well go for new wishbones as well if these are ok. Anyone had any experience with them, bought some from this seller etc...
Basically car has been off the road for a couple of months. Battery completely died so charged it up and now the airbig light and serv light come on, go off and back on again when turning the car on.
Thought it might be the slipring/clock thing as the the wires came out on inspecting it, so...
Have just swapped the OE driver side shock with a Koni. Spring on etc and shock inserted and top mount secure but I can't for the life of me get the two mounting holes on the shock which the bolts go through to line up with the two holes which come off the hub. I've had the same prob before and...
Evening
Car (ph2 172) just bombed the MOT. A few bits I'm fine to fix myself but a few I could really do with some advice on
1 - Steering wheel retaining device not secure - basically since I had the wheel off to change the slip ring thing it's had a little play in it. Didn't think it was an...
Rears were nice and easy  but getting one of the nuts off the front n/s shock was an absolute tw*t. Was hammering away at it and soaking it in wd40 for ages till it gave up and came out.
Didn't enjoy using the spring compressors.. probably seen too many youtube disasters but I was just...
Started this morning. No affect on ride or gear selection but can feel and hear a knock. Happens on changing gear 90% of the time just as I lift off the clutch. Also same knock on firm braking and acceleration. Once travelling in a particular gear there is no knocking other than a very...
Basically fitted hubcentric 25mm fk's to the front today, nice and easy. But on checking my bolts with the 15mm spacers for the rear they would bottom out on the hub so left them as I didn't have time to piss about before the rugby.
Question I have is what have people been doing about fitting...
Hi. Basically since I bought my clio the undertray has been missing apart from a tiny bit the previous owner left hanging onto the front bumper (also the belly pan was missing). As I'm sure it's letting loads of road muck up and surface spray up into the engine bay I'm going to buy a replacement...
As per title really. What's the general consensus on the impact on ride and handling from those who have used spacers.
I've just bought hubcentric 25mm for the front and 15's for the rear having seen that set-up on a project thread on here and should be fitting them this weekend. All FK...
Hi looking for some thoughts on price really. Got my flamer about 6 months ago now and there is a crease/dent in the front bumper which is really spoiling the look of the car and the lacquer is peeling too so I've been keeping my eye out for a replacement bumper (and under-tray which is...
Spent yesterday using G4 glass nano polish to tidy up the 10yr old glass on the car followed by G1 clear vision smart glass. Just thought I'd post this up and say the 15ml bottle for under a tenner is fantastic. Have previously used rain-x but this is way better and apparently lasts 30,000...
Am thinking about getting some Eibachs and have just been reading this in the guides section http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?579168-Fitting-lowering-springs-to-a-Mk2-Clio on how to change the springs etc.
The last post in the guide says
Re: Fitting lowering springs to a Mk2 Clio...
Since putting in a new (but second hand) set of xenons on the motor i've been concerned the lights are pointing too high. Have been flashed by a couple of lorry drivers so today tried to adjust them with an allen key but sod all seems to be happening.
I had the engine turned on and the lights...
Right so driving home and the below light comes on. Didn't fancy pulling over and calling the AA at 11pm and the stop light wasn't on so drove gently home and looked it up in the manual and read a few threads on here. So I understand its the emissions light which means something isn't right with...
Bit out of my depth here. Been getting some unpleasant squealing, screetching, grinding noises from under the car after driving it on twisty country roads.
Had a similar noise minus the grinding on my 1.4 which turned out to be the n/s cv joint lacking any grease. Having had the car on a ramp...
Just had two new front tyres put on (front left had really bad wear on the outter rim) and when they put it up on the ramp to check the tracking they spotted a bent rod which I think is the track rod. The guy tried to loosen it to sort the tracking out but it's suitably bent he couldn't do...
Hi
When I'm driving and mostly on the motorway the oil pressure light and stop light have started coming on, either for a min or so or just a few seconds. Have checked the oil at the dip stick and it's at the top notch. Oil was changed by jms 3k miles/3 months ago.
I've previously had...
As the title says really whats the difference exactly between a set of 182 and a set of 172 inlets? Have searched loads and the best thread I could find was the below but it's not exactly a clear answer.
I've got a 172 ph2 and just want to know if I buy a set of rs stamped inlets from a 182...
Hi
Basically I thrashed the car home a few weeks back down some winding lanes and by the end of it on deceleration it was squealing / grinding in the middle of the car to the extent that i could feel it through the pedals. Two weeks of motor way commuting later and no probs at all. Thrashed it...
