    London insurance?

Anyone else with a modded Clio in Central London having trouble getting renewals? My previous insurer refused to renew based on my E14 postcode. Best price ringing around is £980. I'm in my 50s with full no claims, one SP50 from 2020.

Help - stuck in N Yorks and need a sump today

I’ve just started a driving trip and have managed to get a hole in my sump. Before I get recovered home down south and forgo my trip - anyone know someone who might have a 182 sump and could fit today? Currently by the side of road near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales

Removing steering angle sensor from squib

What tool do I need to remove the three screws attaching the steering angle sensor to the squib? It's not Torx as the screws have five splines not six.

    Smoother revving?

A year and bit in and I've pretty much got my 182 exactly where I want it to be. One thing remains though which may not be so easy to sort. Above 5k rpms the engine note is really quite rough and doesn't encourage you to rev higher, which of course defeats the point in this car. The revs come...

    Non-locking replacement fuel cap?

Does such a thing exist for a mk2? My lock is becoming increasing stiff to turn and I'm paranoid about snapping a key. Also it's a faff to unlock every time you fill up, and frankly stealing petrol is at the bottom of my list of worries!

What's Japanese, rally inspired, turbocharged, AWD, 1250 kgs with mechanical diffs on both axles?

23 years before the Yaris GR, this was built. Had a couple of classic RAs before, a JDM blob and JDM hawk before moving on to other cars including my Clio and my Megane, but it seems I can't resist a nice Subaru. This one was competed successfully in UK sprints and was only registered for the...

Dent man - did I get ripped off?

Just paid a guy £250 to sort a few dents on the LY. First time using a dent man so not sure if that was reasonable or not. Four panels. He was in and out in just over an hour. He did a good job and things generally cost in London but that seems a pretty decent wedge for a hour’s work even...

    172 Cup bought for £8,135

There's been some scepticism at asking prices recently. So interesting to note that a one-owner 49k miles 172 Cup sold on Collecting Cars for £7,675. There's an additional 6% fee to the buyer, so the total buying price is £8,135. This is for a car that has mismatching tyres, several MoT...

My quest for the perfect fast-road suspension setup

I recently picked up a 182 which came fully fettled for the track. I actually took delivery of the car at a garage where it had just been serviced with brand-new brake discs, hoses, pads and fluid fitted, set up and corner-weighted ready for a trip to the Nurburgring. However the owner's...

    Are these Cup springs?

Got a set of front springs here sold to me as Cup springs, and trying to work out if they are actually Cup items. I suspect they are not as I have seen photos of Cup springs showing five full winds whereas these have four. No paint markings on the springs, but they do have numbers printed on...

    Undertray?

My car is without the undertray and I'd like to refit it. I know about part no 6000073775 that attaches with four bolts directly behind the bumper. I'm confused by the diagram below though...do I need both items pictured or just one?

Buying OEM suspension from scratch - shopping list

The coilovers that came fitted to my car are too stiff for my requirements so I am going to replace with OEM 182 Cup parts. This being my first Clio and with no experience of OEM suspension I wanted to make sure that my shopping list is present and correct. I have the Cup springs already...

    ECU cover nut on turret

Almost embarrassing to ask help for such a small problem, but am having trouble removing the nut on the OS front turret. It's spinning on the thread. Tried prying with a screwdriver but it isn't budging. Any ideas?

Climate control temp sensor missing - wiring it back in

My 182FF with climate has been stripped including all electrics in the roof lining. Not surprisingly the heater and AC don't work properly. Sometimes I get hot air and other times cold, and the temperature controls don't seem to work. How difficult would it be to wire a sensor back in?

    New LY owner

I almost never do self-intro posts, but wanted to make an exception as I have been delighted to discover ClioSport is still going strong. These days Facebook groups (a poor substitute for a proper forum) have mostly killed off sites like these, so it’s great to see this place is still active...

182 - Cup spoilers but not suspension

Sorry if this has been covered before - I did search! I'm looking to buy a car with Cup suspension, either a Cup or a FF with the Cup suspension, and want to be able to easily identify them from the many cars on the market. I'm aware of the differences in the strut spacing 54mm vs 60mm, but...
