The great thing with the 182 even though it's old and tinny, is you still get cruise control and speed limiter... The EP3 had nothing at all and it did my nut in after a while... Also the EP3 gearing is a pain in the ass, 1st gear goes about 5yds and 2nd isn't quite 'pully' enough to get off the...
If you're on lockdown and have a Dremel and metal polish then what better time eh.....!?! 😁 I'm gunna be car tinkering for a few weeks by the look of it, gives me incentive to crack on with it!! By the way your car looks sweet, trophy/v6 spoiler FTW!!! 👍🏻👌🏻
You ever tried a Dremel with polishing tip on? I used my dremel and autoglym metal polish, my old exhaust came up wayyyy better than expected although a little pitted.....
I had an EP3 type r for a while and gave my 182 cap packed to my mum to use to basically 'trial' the EP3 as I didn't want to sell the 182 I've spent so much on... I didn't like the EP3 so I sold it, getting back into the Clio felt really odd at first... Odd/high driving position, much 'tinnier'...
I can't honestly remember how I did it but I did it without removing the spoiler... All I remember is being massively frustrated that Renault can't just give you a little slack wire to disconnect and replace with a new light..... 🙄
If the above checks don't help in any way then I'd probably get the steering wheel off again and double check the connectors in the wheel and make sure they're tight and contacting well... Other than that I'm out of ideas and hopefully others can shed light on this.... 👍🏻
Hello again @CrashBurnFly, there's 2 non expense things you can check before anything else, these 2 issues can cause Cruise issues... One is corroded terminals on your rear lights, if you see a faint rear fog dash symbol flicker when you break it could certainly be that, the terminals just need...
My wires would throw the airbag light when the seat was moved forward and back... Getting those wires neatly tied and separated under the seat is definitely worth doing first to eliminate one more potential cause...
OBD2 scanners are a minefield to be honest... I'm lucky my mate has a half decent one, I'm borrowing it tomorrow to find an abs fault... If you're near to a half decent garage unlike myself most will diagnose a fault for a few quid and you could go from there... A half decent OBD2 scanner is...
Yeah I really do @Dr Jekyll, my 182 was fitted with a Prospeed Custom Catback when I bought it and that was over 8 yrs ago, so I presume the Prospeed was 9 if not 10 years old, a testament to good fabrication I'd say, never had 1 issue with it til the back section by the tips corroded...
I had...
My first big change in a long time was fitting a 2nd hand but very good condition Catback Ktec exhaust I bought on here... My previous exhaust was probably 9/10 years old so the change was welcome, and the fat tips on the Ktec system are sweet... 😎👌🏻
I changed my wheel for a Snappy one and no airbag light came on, so I don't think it's a default setting...
What always caused me issue was the wires under the passenger seat, when they were loose under the seat my airbag light came on quite regularly until I read about the issue and cable...
I've literally just been out and adjusted mine again! I bought a new oem Renault one a couple of years back as I had a fault with the old one... Only difference was it was esp and serv that came on then, not abs esp and serv... But I thought its worth a try as I've checked fluid level, all my...
I'm not a fan of cleaning cars but today was the day little Clio had to have a wash... Totally pointless where I live in rural Wales but I couldn't let little Clio suffer any longer...
I went to rescue my bro with some jump leads this morning and gave the car a good rip on some backroads and it seems to be sorted for now... I'll look into a new section to weld on now you've mentioned it as this setup obviously isn't going to last forever.... I plan to keep the 182 for years...
The purple arrows show the force is more on the lower part of the prongs than normally would have been without the metal bar if you get my drift?! The other side was actually worse than this and very scrumbly and we did it to that side first, then thought best to do both! Just hope it's an mot...
The pics don't really show it but the 2 little prong jobs that seat the hats are really starting to flake badly and the metal bar is putting more pressure on the lower part of the prong arms than the hat would... I was afraid of the hats pulling through the holes after a while... This seemed to...
I've had new rear discs and my drive shafts were replaced with new ktec ones about 2.5 years ago and the rings look good, so I'm guessing it's a sensor which is a bugger.... 😕 Cheers for clarifying that for me though.... 👍🏻
So.... I've had abs, serv and esp on intermittent for a good while now, today I noticed a big built up of crud on my passenger front abs sensor... Using brake cleaner and a brush I got between the sensor and abs ring and cleaned all the crud off so the sensor is all clear of debris, now I have...
So after fitting the K-tec system last week I noticed my Manifold to Cat spring bolts were absolutely nackered and almost falling off... So I ordered a new fitting kit and renewed the gasket as well, we had to do a Heath Robinson job and use some metal bar and washers to support the spring...
The engine and gearbox were superb in the GTV but it doesn't give the same sensation of speed as the Coup does, the Coup is right up there with driving sensations, it's fantastic...!! My mate had a heavily modified Coup up to around 400bhp, it was done by Flee the well known Coup chap... We went...
Awesome cars aren't they! If you can afford to have one as a weekend toy they're fantastic, not sure about a daily though... My bro ran his for about 4 years and needed little things here and there but nothing major, it never left him high and dry and always reliable... But it got to a point of...
