This started as a mild squeak coming from somewhere behind the front dash when pulling off. I'd get this when the clutch bit, more so in the cold. Now it's just constant, but it may be a compleely seperate problem. Something either behind the dash or in the engine bay squeaks over bumps and...

After the cars started, on pulling off there is a medium-loud clang from the front and I can actually feel this happen through the clutch pedal. After then, its fine. Only happens once after every startup.
Any ideas mechanics?
I want to clean inside the car this week I think, but really want to avoid having a shiny plastic interior when Im done. Can anyone recommend a dash cleaner thatll leave a MATT finish? Also if you want to give me any other dos/donts on cleaning inside. Cheers all.

Whats the interior like (opinions)? And how does all the plastic cope with the fairly harsh ride? Is it rattle-mania? Not that it matters, but like I said, odd question.

First. When I first got the Clio last year (after driving an R reg Fiesta for 2 years), obviously it felt and sounded different. But it did strike me that I could hear the engine sound quite prominently coming from the front...
Obviously its limited to a certain about every 4 months or so, but how long do we reckon itll stay in production, what with supposedly the new Clio out late 2005?
I ask this because I went out today (was about 3 degrees), started the car and the engine spluttered between 500 and 1000 rpm for 30 seconds until I revved her a bit (seemed like the auto-choke didnt kick in). Was fine after, but its a brand new car, full tank of Optimax, all fluids nominal...
My 53 1.6 has climate control. When the A/C is flicked to on you get a tell tale squeeling (not too loud) of a belt slip. Happens only at high revs after medium acceleration and it can be stopped by putting the clutch in and then letting it out again. I think this is weird, does anyone else?
