1.9 DCi! - Talk to me...

Ali

  V6, Trackhawk, GTS
Ins and outs. Defo considering one for work. I spend over 250-300 a month on fuel.
Avg 17-19mpg...
I want a car for winter too...But fancy a daily runner, cheap tax too.

I would not bother with a diesel the way the price of diesel fuel is going, how about a C1/107/Aygo - 60 +mpg and £35 a year tax or Toyota Yaris - 50 + mpg and £120 tax now, then going down to £95 from 2010.

Depends where you drive, an Aygo is dreadful anywhere out of city/town centres.

Even though it's more to buy, it's still quite a bit more economical.

Speak to Riz, Pug 306 HDI, used to get 600+ miles out of a tank. Aircon, auto wipers etc, only cost a couple of k to buy,.

ali - get the 1.9 si-dti it was a 110bhp version from about 1999-2001. I had one as a run about from new - put 50,000 miles on it in 18 months and got rid of it. averaged 40mpg thrashing it, more when I was pootling. I used to get 540 miles on 40L going steady. I had it chipped to about 130BHP.

Y729 XDA was the one I had if you need to get model details:

F9Q Engine in CB0V with a JB3 Box.

Was gonna say, the ph1 is a 1.9 DTi, the mk2 is a 1.5 DCi. The DTi, for me, is a better engine as it's more mechanical as a pose to the common rail stuff in most new diesals, if thta makes sense

and is there a 1.9 dci? I think there was a 1.5 65 / 1.5 80 / 1.5 110 but a 1.9?

I think there is in a megane, but not sure in a clio?

(I was beaten to it about the engine too by mini valver)

  Never above 25mpg
Dads got a Passat 1.9 TDi 130bhp. Gets 59mpg on a town run, even more on the motorway. He does 160 miles a day for work and doesnt have to top up until the weekend, go figure :p

Girlfriends dad had a meggy 1.9 DCi, drove like s**t off a shuffle to be honest, was a nice car. Think i'd go for the new civic every time if money was no object though

Mk1 1.9 can be run on veg oil, something to do with the injectors in it.

Mk2 Ph1 clio was a 1.9, most of them seem to be 5 doors for some reason.

Me and Yoz went through this on the last page ;)

Ali, you wont need more than the 65 if it's just for commuting and cost saving.

  A well built VW
Dci 65 here Ali - Averages 55-58 mpg mixture of A roads and pootling round town even booting it still manage 50mpg £35 a year road tax and it aint that slow once it gets going (IC and remap wil mae it better) handles no bad for what it is too

05 ish Megane with a 1.5dCI 65.

£30 a year road tax and 50mpg.

Sorted.

2002-2006 megane dci 80s an100s both 35quid tax
the 2006-2008 are dci86 also 35quid
or you can have dci106 a 1.9 130 or 2.0 150

irc the 106 is only 35quid a year to tax

a 1.9 will be more to tax 1.5 clio or modus or megane if you want cheap tax

Mine, which Si now owns, was the 65 but had the climate control, auto wipers/lights etc.. Not alot of them have that. Dad's one is the 80bhp, which i think he is considering selling
