Mitsi let me give you a physics lesson.
A car almost always enters a skid because it is carrying too much speed for the conditions. To correct a skid be it rear wheel skid or front wheel skid you have to correct the factor that is causing the car to skid i.e excess speed. By gradually decreasing speed (rather than a sudden lift off) this will allow the tryes contact patch to return and eventually the car will regain control assuming that you have steered correctly. This phenomoneon (sp) is refered to in EVO this month with the 182 group test and also by the previous poster. And if you choose not to believe any of us you could always try reading roadcraft.
