Sorry should of been clearer, i just meant when they added extras to the ph2, so early ph2's don't have TC? So i'm looking at a 2003 or later? or is it later 2003 only or what?

Tbh i wouldnt worry about the traction control and the cruise control, i would be more bothered about having a tidy car with FSH and belts done ect.

I only think it's 2003, not sure at all.

But my ph2 2001 plate had no traction control or cruise.

Also from around that time the 6 cd changer was optional so some dont have it.

I couldn't care less about a 6 cd changer tbh, i just want what i guess would be a FF 172 that has the ESP, TC, CC, etc. (f**k off you "theres no FF 172" people, there is to me.)

why ESP? its beyond rubbish!

Well you can't get a 172 that has Cruise control, without ESP can you?

Cruise Control
Climate Control
ABS
TC

I want all of those, therefore an 03 plate and later 172 is what i'm after, correct?

the guy i bought my 172 off said the ESP button was also sportmode once held in for 10secs.. lol

So if i was to get a 2002 172 instead of a 2003, what would i be missing out on, Cruise Control, ESP, anything else?

1. Go see a 172.

2. If it has buttons on the wheel its got cruise.

3. If its got the switch to the right of the wheel its got esp/tc

4. Look under the passenger seat. There should be a cd changer.

Jobs a gooun. You cant do it by year. Some 04 plates I seen didnt have cruise.

In summary.

If i bought a 02 or 52 plate 172 clio, the only things that "might" be missing, but could also be there if its a weird one, would be ESP and Cruise Control?

The rest, climate control, traction control, ABS, Xenon headlamps etc. Would definately be on it? (unless it was a cup obv.)

You'd have a chance it may have ESP if it was a 52 plate, otherwise will just be normal FF spec xenons etc will be there yes. The only options were sat nav and telephone prep.

So a 2002 172 is not a FF but a 2003 one is?

If the 2003 one has all the features then yeh.

Thats how i look at it anyway. Its alot easier to say i've got a FF 172 than saying i've got a 172 that has cruise control and ESP, don't you think? If someone says they have a FF 182, you know they've got the cup packs, if someone says they've got a FF 172, you know they've got a later one with cruise control and ESP.

No because then people start calling normal 182s 182 FF and that just confuses things.

And as said in previous post, if your 172 i made in a certain year we would know it has/has not got cruise control etc.

And as also said, it has no options so how is it a fully specced one, it's just a 172

As stated earlier, some 53/04 172's don't have cruise control.

yeah, but it wasn't a extra option, so they still not got any extras to make them fully loaded AKA FF

An 04 plate one should 100% have cruise on it as long as it hadn't been kept for a bit then registered. Most made after nov 03 or so will have cruise.

Still after a simple answer to the following, as if its the case then i can look at 02 clio's aswell:

Yeah the only difference would be the cruise control/esp or the cd changer.

I personally would just buy the best one you can, i never use the cruise and don't really need the traction control.

Wait.. is ESP the same as traction control, i thought it was different. I want traction control even if i turn it off. I thought they were different things.

mine is an 03 plate and as far as i am aware it has no cruies, no traction control and no cd changer....does sound about right....i havn't actually picked it up yet....but i am 99% sure i would have noticed cruise...not sure about the other two tbh....wasn't expecting any so wasn't looking out for it.
