According to myth....

172 - Better for top end
182 - Better for mid-range

How reliable is this?

Looking at either manifold for a full forged itb'd engine with very peaky cams (should peak at 7800-8000rpm)

which would you go for? why?

Personally im thinking 182 manifold but would like some other opinions.

I'll be running a 172 on mine. Identical engine spec from what it sounds.

172 manifold all the way

If your budget can stretch to it... Ceramic coat the manifold while its off the car?! :)

Isn't that purely to so with the exhaust system and final drive?

Presume you're talking about exhaust Mani?

A 4-1 is generally more suited to a high revving engine which is why they are generally used on motorcycles.

A 4-2-1 will marginally increased low end power

The difference is there but very subtle. I thought it pulled better mid and top end in my experience

Worth it if you can get it all done cheap. Very handy for cat messing too
