Im going to cry i think the quotes im getting are insane lol!

2001 1.2 16v MK2PH1 33k

18, no ncb, held license for 8months, PassPlus, Modifications

Having a complete mare finding a half affordable price theyre averaging like £2500 for christ sakes!

Tried third party but would rather not chance it.

but i want to build up a ncb and looking at these prices i wont be able to.

does anyone no any way to help me!? lol

Elephant - was the cheapest i could ever find at 18 - but modifications are a no no @ 18 to be honest! especially with elephant! insure it standard as harsh as that is. or pay the price!

i was paying £1200 on an escort RST when i was 18, so insurance must be going up crazy style! im 23 and pay less than £700 on my R32 :O

well when i was shopping around for insurance last year fully comp prices were coming back at that but could get third party for around £1500 but then i tried tesco and they only added on a couple of hundred quid to go fully comp.

Don't bother with the bonus accelerator mate...might sound good but as ive just found out its a waste of time!!

I paid £1100 on my 1.2 when i was 18 with a PC30, tints and alloys....thats with norwich union doing the bonus accelerator which as i say is a waste of time!!

Try the Post Office buddy, my mate across the road just insured an S-reg Mercedes A-Class with big rims etc for 1300 quid supposedly and he's just passed his test. Might be a load of b****cks but it's worth a try. What you got to lose.

Have you tried Quinn direct? Were good for me, £1300 for me, 18 years, 8 months driving, they don't mind cosmetic mods either. Only engine modifications. Oh, its fully comp as well.

get a 10 month policy with admiral, i was in a similar situation and was over 1000 quid cheaper than everyone else. You also get a full years no claims after the 10 months.

also put your mum or someone similar with loads of experience and no claims on the policy (as a named driver) and it'll bring it down loads.

my quote was 670 quid 21 0NCB with more mods, and my mum as a named driver

direct line was the bast for me at £1900 for a 1.2 dynamique

Lol i thought about that but when adrian flux offered me insurance for £1200 and unlimited mods....where as NU offered me £1600 and only 3 mods... i know where im going

try www.ecarinsurance.co.uk they are mint. Insured me on a valver on my 18th birthday and it went to about 1800 after a few months when id been driving a year. On my own policy aswell. Try em..

I'm not saying that you would do it, but is it any wonder people drive without insurance these days? The above quote is just taking the p1ss. That would be what I would expect for someone of his age on a 172 or 182 - not a bloody 1.2 for god's sake. :quiet:

Try nationwide, my mate got quotes on a 1.6 clio on there for 1500. He's 18 and had 2 crashes. Considering he pays 1800 for a 1.2 punto it seems like a bargain

I'm not sure what nationwide would be like with mods. I was messin around last night and got a quote off adrian flux for a mk1 golf gti, mum insuring me as named driver.....£250 quid! Going to get my Dad to check it out

try norwich union. Added £3 per month when I dropped my suspension. I dont think they like drivers in their first year though so you might have to settle for a bike for 4 months

1900 on a mk2 ph3 brand new at 17 but then dropped to 1400 with pass plus! No mods though think im gna wait till i get 1yr ncb then see what they give me. RAC by the way so not sure what they do about mods?
