182 Interior

What has changed for the interior of the 182 compared to the 172?

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/picture_library/dir_26/car_portal_pic_13396

I am referring to this picture because there is a 2nd button (to the left, I think) of the ESP switch. Does anyone have an idea of what this may be?

In summary, I know of these changes. Please add or correct me if I am wrong:

1. digital speedo reading (on top of the analogue dials)

2. chromed dials

3. darker interior/dashboard (ie. different shade of gray)

PS. What are those side buttons under the 3 & 9 handgrip positions?

Only changes:

silver seatbelts
silver trim panels (no longer silver carbon)
air conditioned glove box
silver cloth under perforated alcantara (late 172s have perforated seats too just no silver cloth)
Plastics have new colours
No spare wheel or wheel well
New logo on stereo (the unit is the same)
These are the only changes a late 172 has cruise control and a speed limiter as standard

Did you use to have a 172, Tomclio182? By the way, looks like you have ticked that Cup chassis option ;)! If so, what changes have you noticed? Is the exhaust really that much gruntier (referred to sounding like a BTCC car)? Is there really 2 buttons next to the dashlight dimmer - I believe one is to switch on/off ESP; quite sure there appears to be another one but dont know its function.

In regards to the interior - what is that silver cloth under the perforated alcantara. & can you be more specific with the comment plastics have new colours.

Cruise control/speed limiter switch

The seats have a silver coloured underlay underneath the dark alcantara, and the plastics are now very dark blue/grey

So what are those buttons to the side of the steering wheel ie. under the handgrips at the 3 & 9 oclock positions - new volume controls?

BY the way, it may be near silent inside the car because of the insulation but there may be much more of a roar if you get someone to blip your throttle & you are outside the car. Did you ever manage to drive a 172 and immediately feel that a 182 was more drivable/faster straight out of the box?

The buttons on the wheel are

- or + speed when using cruise/limiter

and R for Resume and O for Off

i have tried the bliping thing and it is still quiet.

i have driven a 182 and mine feels quicker now it has 3000miles on it. Initialy it wasnt.
