182 on board diagnostics and windows

Any of you techie types figured out where the obd connector is and has anybody talked to the brains yet? Ive used Vag Com from http://www.ross-tech.comwww.ross-tech.com in the past and it was great. Was thinking that if I could recode the passenger window for one touch, clear error codes, etc would be big smilie time :D

Nope there no system out. You can get adapters to listen in to engine problem and delete error files etc but its expensive (£1k+).

The passengers window is hard wired for none one touch there no way of making it one touch without chnaging parts. When I get the time Ill hvae a look what youd need to buy as quite a few people have asked.

The OBD connector is under the cigarette tray by the gear stick pull it out and youll see a little plastic cover remove that (I think you need to push both sides in) and youll see the connector but without the correct tools your stuck.

If you want to test the dashboard light though you can always with the keys justs in the engine press the trip computer button and then turn the key to position one all the lights should go and the spedo dials run though a check sequence. To stop it take the keys out

Obd support (well third party anyway) is rubbish.

Im afraid only a dealer with the clip can do anything worthwhile.

I use a prototype scantool that my company produces http://www.tumarc.comwww.tumarc.com

What makes you say that Tom? Ive got no experience of the 2 I mentioned but the VAG Com tool was fantastic!
