182 plenum, 182 manifold, induction kit, lightweight flywheel on 172

  A sexy one
I'm picking up my mk2 172 later and the plans are
Fit all new genuine belt kits
182 plenum
182 manifold
new water pump
New standard clutch
lightweight flywheel
an induction kit (think the 200£ vipercross one on k-tec)
Full service, oil change and flush as many times as it takes for the oil to come out golden
and a remap
then a bhp print out after, also a print out before

So what do you guys think?
Iv seen on here to for a 182 plenum to a 172 you have to cut abit of? Is the throttle body the same? And after that is it a straight swap?
Im guessing the manifold is just a straight swap?
Is a panel filter better than a induction kit?

Im not after big power just aight increase, if it makes 172bhp or over il be happy

  182
182 manifold is a good mod on the 172 but i think you also need the 182 cat or de-cat, Putting a new (valeo) clutch in makes it one hell of alot lighter make sure you change the cable also.

the 182 inlets are near enough matched but iirc they are a diiferent fitment than the 172 ones

Personally i would save your money and not buy an induction kit, just put a new paper filter in or aftermarket panel filter or source a v6 airbox setup.

lightweight flywheel is pointless on a road car tbh. track monster yes

no need to flush it just get it up to temp and drain it out (don't use engine flush)

Remaps make the f4r engine alot smoother which makes it more fun to drive! Rstuner is the best bet its worked wonders on mine

most of all enjoy it;)

cheers mate, just drove it back home and love the power! is in need of a service tho, couldnt go above 80 tho as i reckon the wheels are out of balance and needs tracking, just waiting for my mate to finish his redtop corsa then il drop the engine out of this, i was going to replace the clutch cable anyway but they dont look cheap but now youv said that it makes me feel better haha :)
The flywheel i wont bother then as itl save me £300
atm it has a chavvy cone filter on it but when you boot it it sounds nice, will a panel filter give a nice roar?
iv just had the car on the ramp and looked at the exhaust, iv got a pic of a 182 mani it looks like the 182 one comes to where the 172 cat ends?
so if i was to put a 182 cat on it does that go where the middle box is then? is there any pictures on here, il have a search now but thouigh id ask haha :)

If you use the 182 manifold & 182 cat I think K-tec do a link pipe to fit you 172 system.

Regards Russ...........

182 upper plenum wont fit
182 manifold imo is pointless for the amount of work involved in fitting it
£200 viper - w**k, just get a renault PH1 air box and save yourself £150!

  53 Clio's & counting
the 182 exhaust manifold is a bit of a pain to do to be fair, without a ramp it's a nightmare!

Lol, sorry ed china

as above, for what you will gain for the effort involved its a waste of time. Unless you are dropping The subframe anyway.

I suggest you do some searching about it.
