Since my last posting here ive added a diesel heater under the bonnet and plumbed it in through where the original heater pipe ran, Gets super toastie in there now and has a remote so I can pre heat the car if I wanted. Was given the idea by some of the old T2 camper guys. I also took it for a brief run down the road to give it some use and blow some leaves off the roof.

How the f**k have I missed this?! It's f**king awesome and I want one now!

Is it just torsion bars that's allowed you to deck it?

Lol, this is back when Renault were semi advanced, front is double wishbone rear is very similar to a vw beetle with axle tubes that pivot from the gearbox and have a shock and spring at the end (y) chopping bits out and running on the bumpstops is how its so low :D

Double wishbone? Wow they've really not taken that momentum have they?

The height is perfect on it and me being me it would need to have patina. It turns out that I'm the reason I can't have nice things.

Got up early this morning and went for a brief stroll before the rest of the world started getting out and obviously took some frosty pics of the Dope.

Then abit later on, emptied out the ice sheets from the floor, flicked the heating on and took her for a quick blast in the sunshine. There's a vineyard just down the road so pulled in for a few more phone pics. Something right about an old French car being on a vineyard, shame it wasn't in France also.

I imagine the roof racks are like rocking horse sh*t, I think yours would definitely suit it, just without all the pointless crap on it.

excellent thread and a really cool car! I've seen it on turbo Renault too. You clearly are into your retro Renault - good on ya!
Hope you continue to use and enjoy the Dauphine!

Ha ha! You're a man after my own heart! I also started albeit very briefly with my mums Renault 5 TL! I then went on to a Renault 18 GTX which I had for 12 years! Currently I have a Clio Williams which I love but I'm always on the look out for another oldie goldie Renault!

I was bored this morning so cracked on with the exhaust, don't criticise too much, it was slapped together with a gasless mig, loads of fun to play with lol. We have gone from the old blowing original dauphine exhaust with a 40mm inlet (i sleeved it to 45mm) and a 1 inch outlet to a full 1.75 inch (45mm) long system. It definitely sounds fruitier, I should slap it back on the dyno and see if its added anything but noise lol defo feels a little better...... Not sure if i like how it looks or anything but it can stay for a while (y)

I can't believe how tiny it is compared to modern cars, it's like a little toy.

It is dinky, very spacious inside but it has no protection at all, id probably die if a decent stone was thrown up on the motorway. Makes small hatchbacks look big.

Missed this thread until now, very cool little car! Will be watching with interest!

Cheers, not much will be going on with it for a while, just want to enjoy it after last years engine and box upgrade. Banding the rear wheels and some fresh suspension is next on the list but I need to get my Twingo finished first.

I want a little Rover Metro as a project, had one as my first car so fancy a retro project, like yours they're made of tin foil and a stiff breeze could crush it.

metro probably has 200kgs more metal and protection in it than mine too. The wife was commenting at how thin the A pillars were today, she was like "they are cute you can see past them easily unlike our Fabia". I said its great, unless we crash and they would probably spear us in the neck :ROFLMAO:
