Such a cool car, really reminds me of the little runt robot from Batteries Not Included.

1 year ago today the "new" bigger engine and gearbox were placed in the chassis. Flown by to be fair. Surprised the scrappy engine that was built from 3 and slapped together with spares is still going strong.

I think you should stick a bike engine in the back and scare the sh*t out of yourself.

Its pretty scary as it is, in a different way. No safety at all (no belts, nothing), servo less drum brakes all round and twice the horsepower it was meant to have. If i crash at 20mph it will probably be fatal

There's a chap called Adrien Faure in France with a bike engined one, super cool.

Plus I have the Twingo that's currently doing a good job of shitting me up :D

I've decided I want to try and learn some basic photographic and editing skills, I do seem to lack the artistic view/eye though but maybe that will come with practice. Anyway something else to take up more of my time.

Can’t believe I haven’t seen this before. I love old stuff and now my clio 182 is the newest car I own.

I can get the obsession with a VW notchback or square back and this. They are very cool car you have.

This is so unusual as well. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person.

Cheers man, id love a notch still but though rare, being VW are still common (ish) in comparison. There's a few of these about in the UK (I know of about 4 others on the road) and 2 of them are on VW floor pans. I've actually never seen another in person :D

For a while when driving in the Dope I've wanted/needed tunes. To solve this I usually pick up the household Bluetooth boom box/speaker thing and connect it to my phone.

I was bored today so decided to have a crack at making a head unit. Using a very old tape player I found in the mother in laws garage and combining it with a cheap Bluetooth speaker I got free with a pack of desperados about 5 years ago. I'm not overly sure how I really got it working but it kind of does :D Basically I stripped both down, put the Bluetooth unit speaker output to the tape input, removed the motor and used the power to drive that to power a usb charger which then charges the Bluetooth speakers battery. The Bluetooth unit itself stays on but charging and speaker output happens when the tape is pushed into the play position, or it will work with ignition on once I fit it. Volume can be controlled from both the phone and the dial on the head unit. I only had an old speaker (also from the mother in laws garage) to test with but it really pushed out some volume, quality isn't amazing but it will be enough to take the edge off the cabin and engine noise I have. I need to make myself a speaker unit to hide under the dash next, that can wait till another day. Thanks for looking (y)

Just need to find an 8 track for that 60s look. Compact Cassette is way too modern for this car.

Just for some fun, this morning I put the Draggy in the Dope.... I didn't try to hard but 0-60 came in at 17.68 seconds and it ran a quarter in 20.41 seconds (I'm sure I can better these though) 😁 From what I can find the Gordini version did 0-60 in 24.8 seconds a quarter in 22.7 seconds. Happy with that lol

Gave it a little 5 min run out as I hadn't moved it in a while, It needed a jump start but all well afterwards, I may if I feel up to it and give it a good run out this week. The steering is creaking again so ill give the front end a grease up too (part of the regular service schedule). Grabbed a few pics so here they are.

It doesn’t look that small in photos until you see it parked next to something else. That insignia makes it look the size of a shoe! Such a cool little car, I love it 😁

As I had the cleaning stuff out after cleaning the Twingo I gave the Dope some love too. Cleaned down and then re waxed for protection. Doesn't look too bad, you can see the difference where I grabbed a pic of the roof half done.

I think your new hobby should be taking photos of it parked next to the biggest cars you can find.
