197/200 Recaros

  Petrol Blue 182.
Do they have inbuilt airbags?

If they do and one goes off. How much roughly is it to replace?

Steve (the red flamer) fitted Recaro sportsters from capital seating, The standard 197 / 200 recaro's have welded subframes so you would need to cut them about a fair bit to fit them into a ph1 / ph2 as the seats with frames sit very very high compared to standard 172 / 182 interior.

Hmmmm, They're still very expensive new. I'll look into it slightly more.

Any one know about the airbags though?

If you buy recaro supplied recaros sportster, they will fit to trophy/capitalseating/ @JON FOZ subframes. As they have the same bolt spacing.

As said above ones that have been built for renault by recaro (ei taken out a 197/200) they have all in one sub frames welded on which probably take a fair bit of work to get in a mk2.

Thanks guys. Its a shame as there was some 197 recaros up for sale but it sounds like way too much work to get them to fit. I did have a look on ebay and Corsa VXR seats (recaro cs sportsters) are really nice and cheaper too. The 197/200 ones look really nice with the renaultsport embroidery but they also wear so quickly.
Going to keep my eyes out for some aftermarket Recaro CS Sportsters I think. Anyone got any?

yeah they are in all kinds of cars, megans, rs focus, corsa etc.. the design is the sportster or sportster cs for the low sided ones (i think). the problem being the same.. anything that was made for a manufacturer factory fit , renault, ford etc. has a car model specific base.
only the recaro direct generic ones have the bolt to a different subframe pattern.

There is an italian outfit on ebay that sells the basics none heated/non airbag one in the all fake leather option around £700 each, which us about a cheap as they come. you then have to add the subframes. So two seats plus frames from Jon is coming in around £1600.
