197 cams in a 182 ? opinions ?

Ive currently got a Clio 182 , its due belts and a dephaser in the next few thousands so itll be having that after MOT ( expensive month :/ ) Ive read about people using Clio 197 cams in the 182 , what benefits would i really gain?

Im just thinking really out loud, obviously its worth getting the cams done while the belts are off ! ive heard they are cheap enough to get hold of so but i cant find any for sale ?

Also im assuming they bolt straight down? would they run on standard management or will that be something ill need too address aswell ?

Thanks in advance

Meh, get some proper ones in there, not some that need 'magical' timing

Its been done as i've read but the timing seems to be a grey area? I.e needs some fiddling to get right. Least with o.e or RS specific after market jobbies its bang em in, time em up with the tools, done.

Agreed, for simple home assembly aftermarket are easier, the 197 ones are not designed to fit a 172 but aftermarket cams are.

Lol

You seen the video of how well our rs2 and Mwm setup 197 cams combination was working on track at Combe?

Look in the media section mate.

Despite me being a little conservative on the brakes as its my mrs daily not a track car I was still happily getting past pretty much everything else on track :)
