guys ill answer ure question!!! tonight i was heading out of the local carpark and behind me there was an 07 plate vxr corsa he flashed me onto the motorway and u wont believe the amount of car lengths i covered on him!!! i was at 130 n he was actually turning into dust!!! he came up at the end and just smiled n waved!!

Why so much joy that the VXR got panned by the 197? Not so long ago lots of people on here were slating the 197 and saying the VXR woiuld own it. Now there's personal glee that one car beat another one? Erm...

VXR's don't put their power down very well, okay in a straight line but not so good on tracks.

Corsa VXR looks good

but clio certainly more stable and better through the corners

A guy I know who writes for Redline had a CORSA VXR for the weekend- he said that it seemed a little tall and was ok to drive but needed to be rev'd hard - but had a large power band.

aaah right, I didn't really know tbh, I'd just read somewhere that they weren't out for a bit yet... don't really pay much attention to new car releases, I'd never buy new again anyway

Agree but on the basis Tiff had problems with the existing power on std suspension esp body roll then you'd also need better suspension setup, also in the damp or wet the extra power would be almost unuseable, but yeh in a straight line in the dry it would be rapid

The handling looks bad, not driven one but it looks sloppy and dangerous, so in keeping with Astra's and Corsa's over the years... more power would be crazy... lol

what in a straight line ? then clio outbrakes it and pull the diffo back and then takes the bend faster ? evo magazine showed a perfect example of this, on the straighs the vxr was faster quiet a bit actually but on the bends and especially braking the 197 caught up, hence a 182 would be up there also.
