Fook, so I might as well buy the cambelt kit at trade price before it goes in the garage then?
kit retails at 113 quid genuine... not bad cos u get tensioner and 2 idlers..
these 172s are a bit fiddly hence ren give us 5.2 hours for the job..

Anything else worth getting out of the way while they are changing the cambelt?
alternator belt mate... dont let them charge any extra labour as they got to take it off any way...

Ill say it again, NO CAMBELT CHANGE! Only auxilary (sp) belt change. My 36k service was about 280-300 but would have to dig out the old invoice to be sure.
I think the aux belt is the alternator belt. It;s only supposed to be checked and not a part of the actual service but worth changing as it could go another time.
come on chris.. read ALL the posts...lol
72K or 5 years cam belt... OK
it just seems to be lots of cars on 36K are 5 years old...
we dont rip anyone off... we have 1000 customers on our books and most of them come back time and time again!!
