Alarm keeps going off!

  172 cup, Impreza P1
Everytime I lock the doors using the key fob and so setting the alarm, it goes off after exactly 30 mins. I now have to lock the doors using the interior switch and then lock the passenger door and so not use the alarm.

Anyone else had this issue or know how to fix?

Thanks
Steven

Mine goes off all the time as I park on the street and happen to live on a bus route. Every time a bus, van or car with a loud exhaust goes past, the alarm goes off. I now just turn the alarm off - turn the ignition on so the lights all come on (but don't start the engine) twice, then lock the doors within 20 seconds. Alarm should be off then. I think it beeps 3 times to tell you.

I park in the driveway on a quiet street so it can't be noise and the battery is only 6 months old.

I can't work out why it takes 30 mins to go off?

the way your suggesting is only turning the ultra sonics off so that if you have dogs in the vehicle they wont set it off or if you leave the windows/sunroof open it wont go off but if some one does open a door then it will go off or the bonnet etc

could be the ultra sonics?
once the alarm has gone off and you unlock the car i think 3 beeps means the ultra sonics have gone off?
make sure they are positioned correctly? you can also swap the ultra sonic wires over, usually positioned under the passenger foot well
normally they are red-red and white-white just switch them round so you get red-white on both and that should de-sensitise them by about 50% i think

but does depening how manys beeps you are getting

Check the interior sensors on the pillars, Have had to re-wire a few including my own which would set the alarm off all day. poorly soldiered from Cobra

Tried turning the ultrasonics off and it still goes off after the 30 mins. Can't think what else it could be. Renault aren't much help either as they said they would charge £67 per hour and didn't know where to start.

bonnet switch? would be my next guess other than that make sure all the doors are shut proppery etc

I've checked all the door, boot and bonnet switches as if any of them are open when I arm the alarm the alarm beeps to say that. I can't get my head around why it is all quiet for 30 mins and then goes off.

Phoned Cobra who were helpful in a way but couldn't help me as they said that Renault UK get these alarms from Italy and they are not the same as Cobra UK sell in this country. He suggested finding the alarm ecu and disconnecting it or getting Renault to put a new ecu in but I'm sure that will cost a fortune.

you could disconnet the ecu and leave it for something like 10mins, it may end up resetting it but not sure, saying that my alarm has gone off a few times now and beeps for times when i unlock it dam i wish i remembered what the 4 beeps were haha

Does anyone know where the Alarm ECU is located on a 172 Cup?

Renault have come back to me saying "we have heard back that it is located behind the battery on the passenger side of vehicle" and so I replied, "is that not the actual ecu for the engine" in which they replied "is it not the same thing!".

They do not have a clue about the different model in their range!

If you do not want to post on a public forum can you please PM me as I need to change this ASAP.

Thanks guys!

Did anyone ever find an answer for this?

Mine's gone off 4 times already this evening. Can't see anything immediately wrong.

The bonnet switch has been dc'd since I bought the car, and the battery seems to have plenty of juice, starter turns over nice and fast.
