Alcantara Dash

how easy will alcantara go around curves/corners on a dash

is it possible to do a dash in one piece ?.........making no cuts or folds to the fabric ?

also how does it cope with the sun, would it fade if done in black ?

I think alcantara is actually dearer than suede strangely. I was gonna try it myself but cos its so expensive I didnt want to f**k it up so Im getting the dash, 4 door card inserts, gear gaitor and handbrake gaitor done to match my 172 seats. I can see about getting a price to have it done if anyones interested.

Im off to Thailand soon so ill be buying all my materials out there... i may have some left over at around christmas time if you want some cheap. Would love to hear from anyone whos done this themselves.

my mate trimmed his saxo in alcantara and got a good price for it. he got it done at martrim in cheshire they are sometimes at the shows good price and amazing finish they do retrims for tvr.

oh and having it done in black not sure i had black around my screen in the dash and that faded to a green colour had to change it

AFAIK Alcantara is the upholsterers friend because it is so easy to work in comparison with other materials. Thats why a whole dash can be done in one piece. Id say use a light going over of that spray glue you get for doing sub boxes, then stretch it and staple it down under the edges.
