Amp Wiring Problem

  Ph1 172 Sunflower :)
Jus fitted sub and amp into car but theres a problem, Power cable is fine, earth cable is on the back seat bolt thats in the boot. rc cable is fine. but when i turn the cd player on the light on the amp flashes on and off and stays off so power is getting there but not staying. checked both fuses and not them. the car is ph1 172. any suggestions?

the area that you have used to secure the earth wire is painted. Therefore a decent earth is not made.

but it could be anything :)

We had a good feeling the Earth or power was at fault, all signs pointed to lack of power getting to the amp so had to one of them

when the engine was started the amps light came on for a second then went out, so just seems we need to sort the Earth

wheres the best place to earth on the 172 then? or can paint be scraped away to create the right connection

guessing to use one of these idea's:

i used the seat belt clamp holder thing for the centre seatbelt

I used the bolt that holds down the isofix bar. The big black thing running across the boot.

I earthed my amp to the rear lights - in the boot there is a screw that holds your back lights in, well screwd it out put my earth wire on it and then crewed it back in, it's never given me any trouble.

and to make sure it's bare metal
