Car looks great love the livery, reminds me of the Spoon Hondas.

Epas wise you'll need a few bits.

column from a 1.2 or lower spec model with the ecus

this controller from eBay:
you can buy a pipe from eBay for the rack to loop it or you can do like my mate has done on mine seen here:

Untitled by blair mccaffery, on Flickr

you can also buy blanking plugs from eBay or pms for the other bits on the rack. but again mine has grease lumped into the holes and does the job, depends how pikey you want to be.

im sure that's about it there's loads of stuff on here about it if you hit the search.

Update

Made some progress on the 182 ITB install today. We managed to finally mount the Bodies in position. The bolts have been nothing short of a huge pain to gain access to, however the end result certainly looks good.

The PMS radiator and Revotec Fan have been fitted, easily the nicest job we manged to get done today. Its starting to look a little bit like a functional car again.

Still plenty to do over the next couple of weeks;
  • Fit phase 1 pedal & Cable
  • Remove AC from scuttle panel & interior.
  • Finish wiring & connections in engine bay
  • AN-6 Fuel line & connections
  • Mount catch tank & AN-10 connections
  • Fill up Coolant
  • Fit & Cut slam panel to suit
  • Fit Aerocatches
  • Purchase GEN90 - ASAP!
Here's some pictures from today, I've also put a thread up in the 'Engine' Section for advice on the existing connections from the upper manifold. as I'm a little confused as to where these now go?

Update Time

In short, progress has been slow and steady. Unfortunately not having the car with me as it's locked up at Beanie's means it won't be worked on until he is back open and operational.

Prior to them closing I got a couple of pictures sent across of the progress made so far. Soon as the lock down is lifted I shall make my way over and see what's left to do and arrange a date for collection.

I've managed to get my hands on a Epas Column and ECU for the conversion, I've ordered the other items for the complete conversion. I'm hoping to tackle this myself as from what I can see it's not overly difficult to do with a extra pair of hands, right?

As the car hasn't moved now since August last year I'm quite keen to get it finished and back on the road before the bad weather arrives again.

More updates as and when parts arrive, for now some pictures.

Starting point when I dropped it off.

Update Time.

Since the last update back in May a fair amount has changed and good progress made! After what felt like weeks battling with the PAS Rack and Hard lines the EPAS Conversion is nearly complete, only the power cables to run.

The car is still very much in bits as we're always thinking of adding or changing something else whilst it's in this state.

The following parts have been fitted;

PMS PAS Delete
PMS Cylinder Head Bolts
PMS EPAS Loop & Bungs
EPAS Column & Controller
Non AC Bulk Head Panel
PMS Engine brace Mount

During this period a number of wires have been removed or stripped, the engine and gearbox will be deep cleaned and degreased next week. Once this is done the front end and wheels will be back on and will start looking like a car again.

Whilst we've had easy access, all the wheels have been cleaned, treated along with the inner arches and the BC's will be treated and protected.

A couple of things I'll be ordering over the next week;

Alternator (Refurbished Item)
Nimbus Heat Shield
AN-10 Fittings
Custom Dial Backing
New ITB Filter
Fit the GEN90!

Pictures, although these are awful. Gives you an idea of what state it's in. Also on the look out for new wheels, so if anyone is keen on a swap perhaps?

Update

We've finished the Epas conversion! Not managed to test it yet but we're confident it's all working correctly.

The dials had made are fitted, no picture yet of these installed as it's too dark inside the car currently.

But we did manage to find an alternator which meant we could refit the front end. amazing what a difference a front bumper makes!

Still lots of little tasks to do; Heat shield, Wires need tidying up, Air Filter, Aero catches.

Then Just need to book mapping and have the car detailed, then it's finished.. for now!

Update - Final Phase.

Made some decent progress on this the last couple of weeks, a number of jobs are completed now the car is back on the ground.

The following tasks have been completed;

Epas Conversion
New Alternator
PAS Delete
AeroCatches
Air Con Delete
Oil Catch Tank
New Dials
Gen90 ECU

We're got a couple of people coming to help with the initial start to make sure it's running right in early October. Soon as it runs i'll be booking mapping with Chris at EFI. If we're looking maybe a track day before the end of the year!

Here's a couple of images for now, excuse the messy wires I'm not cutting anything back until it starts.

Update Time

It's been a couple of months since I last updated this, not much has changed for quite apparent reasons. However we managed to get it started for the first time. Although it needed a new battery and a lot of encouragement.

We're now fine tuning and balancing the bodies again as it sounds like boat on start up, almost sounds like 3 cylinders. Whilst we await further parts and instructions for a couple of specialists we've carried on tidying up the bay.

We've painted the exposed metal from the removed slam panel in J45 Blue which makes the front end look less like crash damage. Fitted the new Nimbus Heat sheild which was fun! Replaced yet more bolts in and around the bay and we're now labelling up which wires we can start removing from the loom. Ideally we'd like it mapped and driveable by the end of December.

Lastly we've secured some new wheels which are at City Wheels this week. I hope these with the recent engine work will transform the car.

A brief image for now and hopefully some start up videos from this weekend!

Update - Finished.

As it's been a while since I last updated this thread, November last year I believe.

The car had not moved since the last update until Valentines day this year, where I decided a great way to spend it with the other half would be following a recovery truck down to AW Motorworks.

Albeit a snowy horrible few days around then, the car made it safely. I had a comprehensive discussion with Alex about what it needed and anything he felt can be added. We basically gave the car to him in a state, it didn't run at all and hadn't been driven properly since August 19.

The main job was to finish the ITB setup and provide us with a turn key solution, so legally we can drive it home.

6 weeks later and we are planning on picking up the car Monday morning. It has had a lot of work done and made a healthy 202hp at ED on the rolling road.

Of course i'll grab plenty of videos and pictures over the next week or so, for now I have a couple Alex had sent me during the process. I'll write up a review on AW once I've had the car back as it's been flawless from start to finish!

Finally I'm not convinced at all on the new wheels now I've seen them a couple of times, so if anyone has anything they'd like to entertain swap with, please drop me a message.

Couple more pictures from collection day at the weekend.

Alex has been brilliant as ever, really great handover and plenty of information to help us understand what's been done.

First time driven on the road again since 2019. Couple of pictures from the first petrol stop on the way home.

Plenty more updates soon.

Thanks for looking.

Good to briefly see you yesterday! I didn't want to intrude too much as you was with Alex, but still wanted to say hello.

How was the drive home?
Good to see you again too mate. Not at all, it was so cold there, I was quite pleased Alex fixed the heating.

The drive home was noisy! Great to hear the ITBs. Didnt see your RB parked up?

Update - Photoshoot

I spent a couple of days over the BH weekend last week cleaning the 182, it has not been cleaned inside for a very long time. The outside was treated to a full wash & dry, followed by a wax. I wasn't expecting much from the paintwork but I think it came up really well.

I'm still not convinced on the wheels yet, so if anyone would like the TD 1.2's in Anthracite. I'd be open to any exchanges.

I've taken the car to Bicester Scramble today which was a really great day.

I'm also on the look out for new fog light surrounds as mine are in a bad way. New headlights have been ordered which should freshen up the front.

Anyway, here's some pictures.

Looks great - assume no ill effects from removing the horrible shitty normal heat mat crap at the back of the engine bay long as you put something above the exhaust?

Yes mate, I've just put a 1.2 heat shield in place of the standard one after removing the air con. Then just a heat shield cut to size from Demon Tweeks.

Update.

Nice positive update. New seats, it was my birthday on Friday and my partner surprised me with new seats as I was thinking of upgrading them to something a little bigger!

Also fitted a nice 'intercom' unit to the cage, as our helmets have the mic & aux feature. Makes sense to use this now.

A couple more updates tomorrow hopefully.

Update - Front End / False Floor

Following on from my update above I came across a company who specialise in building custom false floors for track/clubsport cars. Contact information for them is below;

HOME | JC Clubsport

They did a great job, as the white paint inside had quite badly worn over the last couple of years. The quotes to respray we're silly! So I dropped the car off with JC Clubsport on a Sunday and they did all the work same day. I think it finishes the interior really well. We also managed to fit fibreglass footwells which I didn't manage to capture.

I have one or two finishes touches to add inside but the bulk of the work is now done.

In terms of the front end, I had a new set of Depo Lights, Front Splitter and Fog Surrounds. Yesterday all of the above was fitted and I think the front now looks a lot cleaner and fresher.

Update - Track Day at Bedford

Not much to update on the car since July, however the track day last week was a success and the car ran faultlessly the whole day. We've come away thinking about upgrading the brakes or at least the pads before the next one. (22nd Nov)

Surprisingly the car passed the DB Limit, Static.. just! and no issues at all on the drive-by. This was the biggest concern after fitting the bodies was the noise levels on track.

Myself and @Matthewm1518 saw plenty of other Clio's on track, anyone from here?

A couple of images purchased from the event.
