AngelWorks Technologies - V6 exhaust

Hello All, After lot of time, the V6 exhaust is out, the first one one fitted ovar the last 2 days. Comprising of the complete sytem of 3-1 headers, link pipes and rear box, the system is hand crafted, tig welded stainless throughout and emits a glorious noise. Details such ascollectors and bifurcations are long tapers and smooth as silk, hand finished internally with no protruding welds. A big thanks to Mitch for being the first one out there to take the plunge. Apologies for the blurry pics, was in a rush!http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107025845__P1010155.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026199__P1010156.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026227__P1010157.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026261__P1010158.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026326__P1010159.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026386__P1010160.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026418__P1010162.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026450__P1010163.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026484__P1010165.jpghttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1107026515__P1010166.jpgFor the few

thats proper nice that, do you do a 182 one
Its in the works.

But Andy (GDI) and Charlie from prospeed do a very nice one, so mine will not be in direct competition as it will be aimed at track day/rally/race use.

plain noise isnt the aim, but they ca in full race trim be loud.

In track day spec you have to adheire to about 98db, so thats about the loudest it would realistically be.

The V6 system isnt actually that loud, no drones, but on overrun the burble, pops, bangs and flames are something to listen and watch. You can hear the burbles from about 1/2 a mile away, whilst full throttle isnt as loud.

Any power figures Ben? Was it just the exhaust thats been done at the mo or any other mods on the car? Does the wrapping come included?

Can you PM me the price please?

Cheers

Wayne

loud gets a bit much though on a motorway

turn the stereo up, job done.

The car is a totally standard and brand spankers phase 2.

Unfortunately, due to timing the customers car wasnt able to hit the RR, but gains are a true 10-15bhp depending on spec of engine.

The wrapping doesnt come included, but its highly advised as about 5 kilos of heat sheilding and bolts are lost/junked and it keeps latent heat at bay, aswell as increasing exhasut efficiency. Its quite alot of work though, that exhasut is covered in 100 feet of wrap with a sealant to protect it from breaking down and a heat barrier coating.

Plus it looks awesome wrapped! lol

TBH, its not actually that loud.

Its mostly engine noise in that clip, and you can hear the burble on overrun.

Well wait for mitch to hear his views.

Ben, are the increased burbles, pops and flames a result of the decating more than anything else? Or is it down to manifold design?

  Forester Sti, SC Clio V6,

Ben

Is that a third lambda sensor fitting at the rear after the two into one??

Why are the lambda sensors both on one bank on the install?

Arent their four on the standard set-up? I cant remember!!

Mike

Actually the drive back from Cambridge has warmed it up. It is alot louder now and the bubble back is immense. By the way Ben, sorry for telling you I couldnt find the power, I found all of it heading down the M6. Huge improvement, great system, mightily impressed. Got to say, keeping it quiet is nigh on impossible though.

Probably a mixture of both, but having never done a straight decat, i cant say for sure.

Hiya bud,

There are 4 sensors yes 2 for each bank, the system has 5 lambda bosses in it (as Phase 1 dont need the after cat ones plugged in, most f the time), so one is just plugged. The lambdas are in a bank as one is pre and the other post cat, so it doesnt matter where they do as they all read the same emissions. And the bosses are quite thick, so only the tip of the sensor protrudes....so no flow is impeded.

Very Nice, if i hadnt just spent over 2k on getting my car repaired id of been straight down and bought one ;)

Thats superb Mitch, when you came back i was mighty dissappointed that you thought that, but it had only been run for about 10 mins prior.

And the noise on overrun, christ..........like i said, 1/2 a mile away, it sounded about 100m away!

How is it inside the car now?

Thanks for the offer!
My capure software, camcorder and comp are old, so its large files :(

ben,

nice work. the brackets that hold it the rubber mounts at the sides of the backbox, are they a final design as us Mk1 owners have mesh which makes them visable.

So Ben what are wee looking at here...............just a ball park...............what a bout a £100 or £120.................all in fitted and wrapped eh

Just one question................and it isnt a critasism just a question.............can you get the tail pipes with a slight up-sweep.....................cause thats the way mine is and it just looks that bit more.........errrr whats the word.........errrr I know AWESOME :D

Kinda like this: -

PS can you PM me the price and the other viseo clips?

Interior noise is pretty hefty Ive got to say, but I guess I was asking for that. So far everyone Ive let out in it thinks its a massive improvement. The over-run burble has to be the big feature though.

Mitch

Im over the moon that its working out so well.

The only problem with thinner wall stainless is that you can hear the ticking of combustion noise through it easier.

LOL..I wish:D at least 10 x that I would think?, Looks great though and love the sound.....and another 15bhp will be nice :D

How much is the full system fully fitted then Ben???

Simon

Did you mean to write performance decrease?? Its really opened up the throttle response and over 5k its so much freer. As for quieter, not sure, thats one for Ben.

Mitch

I think he means what reduction in the increase would having a quieter version bring. poorly worded and probably easier to ask what gains over standard a more silenced version would bring. Thats if im reading it correctly.
