Anyone good with LCD Tv's?

Im hoping someone on here is clued up on these things and can help. My 32'' lcd is starting to piss me off. its about two years old and has been briliant untill a few weeks ago when the picture started to go funny. Depending on the colours on screen we get a mixture of pink and blue blurs on the screen. seams to be around the edges of objects on the screen where colours change. With very ocasional blocking in the same colours. Its definately not the incoming signal as it does it on all channels, scart sockets and the pc. (i use it as a massive monitor as it has a vga socket)

Is there anything that can be done? its out of warranty now.

although if you think it should still work then you could try using teh sales of goods act that says a product should work for a reasonable ammount of time never mind its warranty

cba with all that goods act thing, cant even remember what internet site i got it from. If i got to replacement maybe i could take it to the local cash conveters or something, Lol

My mate who is pretty s**t hot on telly's, reckons that LCD's will only last 2-3 years anyway!!

really? well it was quite a few quid when i bought it (splashed out when my ex left and took the old one) but they are much cheeper now.

My old dear got one at the same time (different make) and hers has been replaced so maybe its true

But Yeah, he said they are only designed to last 2-3 years.

John Lewis give 5 year warranties on TVs so i would think that they must last a while. Not much you can do with your problem though other than try and get them to replace it. Where did you buy it from?

Well, it depends how much you have it on.. but, I'd say almost all will last longer than 3 years under normal conditions.

It's like 25000 hours for Plasma or 60000 for LCD or something average..

So even if it's on 24/7, Plasma is 3 years and LCD is just under 6 years.. and my TV ain't on 24/7..

These are averages, but 3 years isn't very long at all.. Heh.

Sorry didnt see that. New TV it is then or try one of those small electronic shops. Might be able to fix it. What make is it?

lcd's last longer than plasma's - plasma degrades around twice as quick.

its getting bad now. white screen adverts show up as fuzzy blue at times

Has it got loads of little bits in the darkest areas and around objects? Mine did this the company sent a technican out he basicly said it was f**ked, so i got the money back and got a better one.

I just bought a Sony 32D3000 from Dixons for £604. Amazing TV and I'm hoping it'll last a lot longer than 3 years...
