Apex 60mm Springs

  Golf 7.5R & Clio 200
Cheap and cheerful, under £100.00..

Get what you pay for I know, but how harsh would these be?

It's my daily so I don't want it almost un drivable, just want it to look good.

Any cheap, better alternatives 'spring' to mind?

harsh would be an understatement they will be horrendous, the apex 40mm ones i had fitted were very very harsh. 60mm springs won't give you any kind of comfort imo.I would go for 40mm PI springs i think danny at 519automotive sells them

still has the same linear spring construction only way to get a better ride is look for progressivley wound springs.

  Discounted 1*2 parts
I had spax 60mm on the dci and they were shockly bad (almost dangerous when you hit a dip in the road!)

Save a few more pennies for the rokkor coilovers

had 40s on mine, and yup, they were appauling, sold them and got raceland coilovers, allthough not amazing, the difference is night and day

To be honest. I reckon any 60mm Springs are going to suffer from awful ride quality. Specially on standard shocks.
Yea mate. Quite a few people on here have got those coilovers. All the same just rebranded raceland/rokkor/Tecnik etc.
Seem to be decent on the money. Doubt handling will be anything to shout about but if your after lows for cheap they'll be the ticket.

I have apex -60mm springs on my 8v 1.2 and it was brilliant (the were actually -30 williams springs, which were sold as -60mm's for non willys). It was the best thing I every did to the car! Also bumps and that really arnt that bad, yes you feel them but you also feel the road a lot more as well.

I'm in the same situation as you, really want coilovers but just can't afford it. Will there be much difference in ride harshness comparing springs to coilovers?

This ^^ I know you can adjust height etc, but will coilovers be a nicer ride? I'm only after cheap lows, with regards to handling, I'm not taking a 1.2 anywhere near a track haha

APEX will be fine then, take a look at my gallery section and you should see some shots of my red mk1 on apex springs/shocks
