Apex or Spax

Ive got a 16v clio (96 N) and im just wondering which suspension kit is the better one?

The spax kit (55mm) from k-tec website or the Apex kit (50mm) from the BB performance website?

Also when these are fitted and the torsion bar is lowered, do you have to adjust the brake bias like BB performance do when they fit it for you, and why?

Cheers

Have no idea which kit is better, although the spax is adjustable on the damping i think (?). The apex kit is supposed to be really good value though. The brake bias needs to be adjusted because the rear brakes think you have a heavy load on board (because the car is much lower), and so bite much harder, which can mean your rear wheels lock up expectedly - not too good!

Anyone got either suspension kit? Im looking to get something like that for mine, wouldnt mind a bit of feedback.
Cheers

brun, how do you do that? im planning on a large drop at the rear, so i dont want it over braking

Ive just had the BBPT -50mm springs fitted. Not convinced they actually drop the car 50mm though. Didnt realise K-Tec do a -55mm kit otherwise I would have got that.

Spax are a bit bouncy on mine. Nowhere near as controlled as the Konis on my Bros old RST.
miss matched springs or broken valves.

I got spax on my fezzy and they are fantastic, id get them over koni simply because they can do what you want.

Im not sure what the saxo will have in terms of bias control, but teh compensator should be linked to the rear axle, ill have brake lines comming out of it. Get a pic for us please!

Grrreat..... I just find mine dont control very well on bumpy back roads at high speed - rather than absorb it bump they kind of bounce you over it! Not good at high speed... They are alright on smooth road, but given the choice again Id splash the cash on something else a bit better.

And Id hope mine werent mismatched - theyre spax dampers and spax -40mm springs!

booked my car in at bbpt on monday for the 50mm apex kit to be fitted torsion bar lowered and brake bias adjusted, just over 330 quid :D

bargain if u ask me, ill let u know on monday how it goes
